Impressed with the quality of this box. The only thing you have to assemble is the frames. For this you need a hammer and wood glue, it comes with the nails. Everything also comes coated in beeswax, except for the frame components (the plastic inserts are coated well though). The accessories it includes are practically freebies and all of them seem to be decent quality. The hat and veil were packed in a way that didn't squish or wrinkle and the gloves appear to be actual leather (or some dang good pleather) with canvas sleeves. I don’t know much about beekeeping as I am a beginner. I bought this “starter” kit and there are minimal instructions. It seems to be of decent quality, but the instructions are absolutely terrible.

    • Bottom board came broken out of the box.

Not sure about sturdiness of the hive box because it had a broken bottom board upon arrival, when I opened the box and examined the contents, the bottom board was broken, so instead of returning it, I glued it back together, I hope that works when it's filled with bees and brood.
