This is a very nice starter hive, all parts were great quality for the $$. (The frames although unassembled are made from basic pine/fur and well cut, good quality they assembled well, no splitting when nailed.) two thumbs up! Caught my swarm in 2 hrs. This was a massive swarm at home living in a dead tree. The queen came early around 10 A.M. She entered the hive followed by 4 drones. One hour later around a thousand bees were on my emergency ramp at sugar syrup and Joe Pye weed we grow. They have stayed since doing great. I would be ready with white sugar syrup 2 cups sugar to one cup very warm water mixture to get their honey up. These bee would have mostly died in nature but I have a great start. You can go wrong.
