So far I’m giving this toaster 5 stars. I had a toaster that lasted at least 20 years, took it when my mother passed away. Pitched it when it was still working because I wanted wider slots for bagels. Bought Black and Decker returned after 2 days complete flop. Next cuisinart used it for two years, but it never really worked. Only toasted one side and ended up toasting not enough or too much. Only used my new one 1time and a huge difference, toasted perfectly and it looks great on my counter. I picked the black one and love it. The cuisinart shorted out and is in the trash. Pretty much all heating appliances stink when first used but this one was off the charts bad. I gave it 4 stars because it's actually a pretty good toaster after letting it run for over half an hour outside and then several more cycles in the garage to get most of the smell gone.
