  • Comfortable Chair, Easy to Assemble
Color: Black Style: Mesh Back
What I like about this chair: First it was easy to assemble, extra hardware was provided, along with the needed tools, second, I am 5'5" with a short torso, so I wanted a chair that I could raise high enough, so my desk didn't hit me at mid chest. Instead of sitting inside a bucket shaped seat, the cushion is soft and helps to elevate me above my desk. Third, the adjustable arm rest was something I looked for- to support my arms so they are slightly above my keyboard, minimizing fatigue. The chair has a smaller footprint then my old Staples chair, more compact-overall nicer looking. ... show more

  • A good, basic, task chair.
Color: Black Style: Upholstered Back
I bought this chair for my home office. I will be using it one or two days a week to work from home, and the rest of the time when I randomly work on various art projects or journaling...let’s say 18 to 32 hours per week usage for this chair. I wanted: something under $300, decent quality to last at least 5 years, decent comfort, and minimalistic appearance. I’ve had this chair for a week and I’m pretty happy with it. Price vs. Quality: From my research I’ve learned that you shouldn’t expect much from an office chair under $600. Probably true for someone working full time from home, but I will be using this chair much less than that, and an ergonomic chair doesn’t make sense to me if I’m not spending all day in it, and half of my usage will be doing artwork. I don’t need a headrest. This chair cost much less than most of the popular chairs on Amazon and (with one exception) I found no problems with the quality of the chair. It was easy to assemble, despite some vague instructions I had it together in 20 mins and was sitting on it. The cushion is thick and supportive. Most* of the components look durable. I’m familiar with HON and expected the quality of this chair to be a cut above a Staples chair. I was not disappointed with the quality. It seems solid and doesn’t wiggle or make noise when I move around on it. * Except for these bolts that are used to attach the mounting bracket to the seat. The slots on the bracket are very wide and the flange on these bolts is thin and barely covers the slot. These bolts see some stress so I decided to add some washers beneath them to provide more support and less chance of coming loose. Comfort /Appearance. The chair is pretty much completely black. It has a mid-sized back, and is very unobtrusive. It completely disappears in my room. Very happy about that. Regarding comfort, I have been fine so far in my first week with no problems with the seat cushion. Others have mentioned that the chair only leans back about 15 degrees, and it’s only the back-rest that tips, not the seat. Sadly, this is true. For long term use, or gaming, I think this would be a problem. So far for me, I’m still deciding. But I think it will be okay and will promote better posture. This chair has minimal adjustments: Seat Height (easily gets high enough for me, I’m 6 ft), Backrest Tilt: Look/Unlock, Forward-Backward seat adjustment (nice) and the tension on the back tilt. The seat back height can not be adjusted. There really isn’t any lumbar support. But the chair is pretty comfy. Overall, the chair met my expectations and I would recommend it for light usage as a task chair, especially if someone is looking for something that is minimalist and will not stand out in an office. ... show more

  • Some Concerns
Color: Black Style: Mesh Back
The chair was quick and simple to assemble and the cushion is thick -- however the arms are mounted directly to the seat with three screws each. This is a large concern because these arms WILL come loose and leaning on the rests or using them to adjust your seating puts strain on the screw holes, which will eventually strip out. The chair comes in at a respectable price but beware of the chair arms. ... show more

  • Cheap, robust, comfortable
Color: Black Style: Mesh Back
This chair is comfortable and a great replacement for my previous broken chair. Thick butt cushion and strong mesh back. I am a heavyset software developer and I suspect this will work well for year to come.

  • Quite nice. It's a better office chair than 'all-rounder'. Better for taller people.
Color: Grey Style: Mesh Back
Overall it's a very nice chair. Feels solid and it 'encourages' good posture while I"m sitting on it. The wheels are nice and 'roll-y'. They're similar to roller blades wheels but not quite that smooth. Assembly was quick and painless. The seat cushion is a nice medium-firm. Lots of adjustments with armrests, lumbar, height, etc. For working it's a very comfortable chair. There are some downsides, however: The arm rests don't lower enough to go below the edge of the desk, preventing me from scooting in close to the desk. I'm average height, 5' 6", and I have a adjustable sit/stand desk. And when I have the desk adjust to the appropriate height, the arm rests bump the desk and don't go under it. So I can't scoot as close to the desk as I'd like. The armrests adjust, but this is at their lowest setting. If you are a much taller person this might not affect you. With the seat at it's lowest setting, and the armrests as low as they'll go, the armrests measure 25.5 inches off the ground. With the seat at it's highest setting and the armrests at their lowest, the armrests measure 28.5 inches off the ground. Another 'con' for me that might not affect you is the lean back. It only leans back a few degrees. Say 15 degrees, or a few inches in layman's terms. It feels a bit less than what's shown in the picture with the lady on the phone. Or it could be exactly that amount, of course. But it doesn't lean back any more than that. And the back of the chair is really the only thing that leans, not the seat. My current chair that I'm replaces, which is some medium level chair like what you get from an office supply store leans back at like 45 degrees. It's great for napping and when watching something on my computer where I want to kick back in a relaxed way. So that, my old chair, is a good 'all-round' chair that can do office an casual. This chair can do office really well but doesn't do casual. I don't really notice the lumbar support, I don't really feel it at the place where I think I need to set it. That's neither here nor there, really. Finally is the cost. At $279, I do want my 'forever chair' to be able to handle working and relaxing. I have a limited amount of space and need to maximize utility. But that's a personal decision. The things the chair does it does well. ... show more
