I got this fountain because I was trying to wean my kitty of the faucet on my bathroom sink. He had a plastic fountain already, but it doesn't have a spout like this one, and I was trying to get away from plastic. He loves the fountain. However, instead of replacing the plastic one, he somehow got me to let him have two fountains and he still tries to drink at the sink. So that plan didn't work. The fountain itself is decent. I do agree with what one other person said about the spout not being on there very good. It is loose and easily moved. This shouldn't be a problem with my kitty, but it might be with more rambunctious kitties. Also, it has plastic inside, so I really wasn't able to completely get away from plastic, but he immidiately took to it, so, oh well.

I’ve tried plastic and a different form of metal fountain , but they either got absolutely disgusting in a day or two or their made of bad parts that could harbor bacteria and get my cats sick. This filters the water very well with three different filters, is all metal save for the plastic housing for the spout filters and pump, and is probably the one that stays clean the longest. I clean my fountain probably once a week and this is the first one that didn’t have bits of nastiness floating in the reservoir when cleaning time came.

Assembly was pretty easy considering I’ve had to install the pump in others. The water buoy is a feature I didn’t even notice until I opened it up, but it is an awesome way to read the level in a stainless steel fountain. My cats love it. Immediately they ran over, but to be fair they both have generous appreciations for water fountains. Compared to many other fountains at a similar price, the general durability, functionality, and convenience make it a great option. It is smaller than I imagined, but I didn’t look into the size at all so that’s normal. The top section is probably easy to remove for a determined pet, and that could cause some spillage. It would just be whatever is in the top bowl though because it looks like the fountain will function even with that knocked off. My cats are pretty combative with their fountains, but I don’t think they’ll knock this off without trying a lot. It is something to keep in mind for pet owners that have really rambunctious “let me knock this over” pets since I don’t think it locks in place. If your pet sticks their paw under the water stream it might spill, but personally I keep the fountains on top of towels since my cats like to play with their water. Annnd as I’m writing this my older cat has come back for more water haha- I’d say it’s a success. I gotta look into it, but if this brand has an option with a light I’m definitely getting that next because that’s the only thing I can think of that would make my cats like it more.

My cats don't really like drinking standing waters in the bowl though I change them twice a day. They always try to drink from leaky faucet & or toilet (which is kinda disgusting). The item is small enough to fit into a small room, and I'm not bothered with the noise level at all. And I'm glad that I went for stainless steel - so it'd be easy to clean it.

My friend suggested I get a water bowl with a fountain because cats have an instinct to go towards running water, so I figured I would give it a try! Came next day, easy to assemble & clean; super quiet and nice capacity. It takes up a lot less space (taller) than my previous plastic fountain I kept tripping over and spilling. It has a large covered reservoir and the float indicator a great visual so the pump should never operate dry.
