Description

Leave home and let the fan run for as long as it needs to remove humidity from the bathroom. This Homewerks bathroom exhaust fan features a dual mode humidity sensor to determine when and how long the fan should run based on the amount of humidity in the room. If less than 60% humidity is detected in the room, the fan will turn off. Use the included wall switch to run the fan in normal mode at full speed at 140 CFM. This thing is super powerful, it's also whisper-quiet. The cons: -Installation was a challenge because the braces only come out in 3 places. It's a heavy fan, so bracing it on 3 points isn't enough. Also, my previous attic fan was against the joist so when I butted the fan up against the joist it pushed the back end of the brace to overlap the duct opening (figuring this out only once I was in the attic holding the dangling fan, I crudely bent the brace to clear the duct outlet). Then on the opposite side of the fan, the braces weren't long enough to reach the other joist so I had to add blocking, and it wasn't sturdy enough to keep it in place so I had to secure it from below. There were no other attachment options from within the attic forcing me to drill up from the underside into the drywall ceiling and wood boards that I added to the sides. On the underside of the fan (the side that points into the bathroom), the holes to drill it up into the ceiling are only on 3 sides of the unit. Again, not ideal to keep it secure. If I was installing this professionally for someone else and wanted it to look perfect, I wouldn't choose this fan because it requires a lot more blocking and bracing and slows down installation and makes it look less professional. -The status light is pretty bright in a dark bathroom. It looked like my toilet was being beamed up by a UFO in the middle of the night. I covered the light with tape. -In retrospect, I would have bought a fan that has adjustable humidity levels that turn it on. The 60% humidity level that turns it on and the high power of the fan empties out all heat and humidity and in the winter makes the bathroom pretty cold during the shower (something that, in retrospect, I don't like). PROS: -This thing is powerful. It kicks on automatically (if in that mode) exactly as described. I like that it's also manual if desired. (After one shower with it running automatically, I decided I'd use it manually from now on because it takes ALL of the warm air out of the room quickly - I guess I don't like showering in a cold room after all) -Seriously super quiet. -This is sturdy and well-packaged. Amazon shipped it in the original packaging and it was secure and arrived without damage. Giving it 5 stars because for some, this is a great fan. For me, it's ok. But not the fault of the manufacturer or seller so I think it deserves 5 stars. ... show more

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT DOES NOT WORK. THEY DON’T SELL PARTS. THEY GHOST YOU!!!! I recently 6/2023 installed one in my home and found the sensor did not work. I then researched two prior ones installed in rental bathrooms (2022) and found they did not work either! 1) These are not easy to install. You buy because they move a lot of air and you pay premium for built in sensor that activates at the “source”. 2) Supplier is not manufacturer. They do not sell a replacement sensor (and thus probably NO replacement parts). Thus you’re screwed for parts unless you feel and comfortable buying specification equivalent parts (I am but it time consuming) 3) Their solution is to send a replacement unit. Terrible solution if you have installed and done drywall repair. BUT they ghosted me on a replacement!!!!!! I called them. They explained they don’t offer sensor, then requested I provide copy of receipt for replacement. I did. I followed up on my email of receipt. Krickets!!!! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. IT DOES NOT WORK. THEY DON’T SELL PARTS. THEY GHOST YOU!!!! ... show more

This fan works so well to remove the moisture during a shower! We have an extremely damp bathroom that had a fan and dehumidifier. We also had to open the window each time we showered. Walls and ceiling would drip with water and mold would appear quickly in shower and on curtain liner. This fan leaves our walls completely dry and the mirror hardly even fogs up. It is extremely quiet, but that wasn’t a priority. Definitely one of my best purchases to date! Glad I bought 2 so I’d have one in my other bathroom! ... show more

Upon receiving I noticed a broken piece of black plastic fell out of housing. After further review it realized 1 of the mounts where broken. I used a JB Weld "plastic bond" to repair the damage. After repairs I was challenged with the install. My joists are 24" OC and It was a fight all the way to the end trying to install this unit. Even trying to replace the electrical cover after making the connections had proven to be a challenge simply because it is such a tight fit that it would seem the manufacturer didnt allow for additional room for wiring. I feel this unit is better suited for "NEW CONSTRUCTION" installs only. Nonetheless once install was complete it does run smooth and quiet. So even thou it proved to be a challenge, I am happy with the finished results. ... show more
