Returning, the legs that came assembled were broken/ wobbly and weren’t able to tighten or fix. Waiting for the second one to arrive to see if it’s any good. The color is not that accurate. These chairs are sturdy, comfortable, and attractive. Easy to assemble. There is a bit of a scent-- maybe from the wood stain? - when you first unbox them, so allow the pieces to air out first if you are sensitive to chemical smells. These chairs were just the right addition to our apartment.

I aspired to French style barstools from Horchow. Not in the budget. These worked out just fine--the cushions are a little stiff and the workmanship is what you would expect from a mass-produced "made in China" product. Nevertheless, the colors and fabric design I liked. The red and gold fabric looks more like burnt orange when taken on the whole; it isn't too shiny. The assembly was simple enough. Unlike some reviewers, I received all required pieces and I found the bolts lined up just fine. The centering peg that aligns the back to the seat was a little weird--it wasn't long enough to seat itself between the two pieces, but tightening each bolt a little at a time in a rotation pattern was easy enough to pull it together. For the price, I'm happy--the purpose is served. For the price, when I get tired of them, it won't hurt me to throw them away. ... show more

These are engineered poorly! Holes don’t line up on one of the chairs and other chair one of the legs wasn’t cut right to fit into chair base. Took me so long to open box and assemble with moving and unpacking amazon wouldn’t do anything. Had to plane down one of the legs to assemble, and drill holes for leg of other chair to screw them together. The materials used are quality, but poor engineering. Not worth the money. ... show more

All I can say is these chairs stink so bad! It’s a hard smell to pin-point but very strong even after you touch them your skin still smells. I got these as an open-box deal very cheap otherwise I would have returned them. The chair seating portion is good quality and the print is very nice, however, the wood legs both needed to be glued. The items were “like new” condition and both of them had the same problem. They have been airing out in the sun for two days than in the garage at night. Hoping in a few days I can bring them in the house. If not- I will be throwing these chairs on offer-up vs. disassembling and sending back. They are worth an open box deal- but I would not pay full price as I don’t think the quality is like a 100.00 chair. ... show more

I've bought my share of "put it together yourself" furniture. It's generally all kind of the same quality with the same packs of screws and little allen wrench and whatnot. If you've bought this kind of thing, you know what I'm talking about. I was pleasantly surprised that this chair, while still the same assembly style, was a slightly higher quality in the way it was constructed. Namely, the anchor points where you connect all the different pieces are a little more substantial, with more bracing around the points. This is a beautiful chair and really easy to assemble. If you are looking for something you will be sitting on every day, I would pass on this one. I can already feel the seat padding flattening out and it's no longer so comfy. This purchase will most likely be my chair in the cellar at my work bench in a few months.
