The delivery was earlier than expected! The assembly instructions were clear, all the parts were included, and it took me (a 70-yr-old woman) less than an hour to assemble by myself. It is very heavy, though, and it took two men to turn it upright and move it. The weight makes it very solid and stable; there is no wobble at all. It was purchased not for dining but as a sewing and work table. The counter height is perfect for working from a standing position and greatly reduces back strain resulting from bending over a standard-height table. The four drawers are shallow but very useful for items like scissors, needles and pins, pens and pencils, etc. They would easily hold placemats, napkins or silverware. The two shelves hold quite a bit of stacked, folded fabric. The black table frame with rustic brown barn-wood-like top is quite attractive. This was important to me--I wanted something that looked and functioned better than the standard rather rickety work table with flimsy top and folding legs. I am very pleased with this purchase and think it is well and reasonably priced. (One of the drawers sticks a little, and there were a couple tiny nicks on the edge of the top, but nothing that would cause me to give this table less than five stars.) ... show more

I love the table and chairs. They are beautiful and sturdy. The chairs are balanced, no wobble. All drawers work. I love that I can slide my legs into a chair without having to maneuver around a corner table leg. The table is more stable when moved than a table with corner legs. This table fits nicely into my small dining area. I also use the table for my artwork. The price increased (but was still the best available) from the time I thought of buying this set to the time I purchased it. I was concerned with all the reviews suggesting problems. Accordingly, I waited for final tightening with the chairs and the table. I made sure everything was lined up before final tightening. I had no problems at all. The chairs were slightly more difficult to build than the table. Only issue--they initially messed up my order and sent chairs without the table. Finally, the table was sent after some negotiation with customer service, and the issue was corrected. Dining set was worth the hassle. ... show more

The table is gorgeous, very easy to assemble. The chairs, very difficulty to assemble. You gotta have writes of steal to snug everything up without gaps. Almost impossible! So the table 5 starts the chairs look nice but because they are extremely difficult I’ll give a 4 star. A few of my chairs had scratches or missing stain but other than that I’m happy with the table! ... show more

I had been looking for a new dining set for several months. Hard when you can't touch and feel the items on Amazon but I liked the look of this set enough to give it a try. Have to say I have been pleasantly surprise. Nice quality and every thing went together very easily. Usually there is at least one screw that doesn't quite go in.....but not in this case. This table is okay and it's heavy and seems sturdy, but I I'm not sure it is quality furniture. I thought the top would be smooth but it isn't. Plus there is a ditch style opening all around the top which catches crumbs.

This table is not good quality. Spend less and get one that is comparable. I’ve had two now and the bars that hold the chairs together are incapable of staying still and in place. Update: my replacement table pieces are just as bad as the first set. The bolts are not even long enough to put the chairs together. What a horrible waste of money. NOT WORTH THE MONEY. ... show more

I finished assembling this dining set just now, and have some detailed inputs here. I must say, it feels satisfyingly heavy and solid and the overall feel is pretty good. But there are a bunch of issues, some minor, some significant that I want to point out in the list below. 1) Table: The mounting board holes are not well aligned to the table top. I managed to somehow force 5 of the 6 bolts in, but there is no way I could get all 6 to match up. This is a MAJOR issue. 2) Table: There are at least 2 paint nicks/chips or longer paint "cracks visible on the edges. Not nice to see when you expect a brand new, pristine set. 3) Table: They sent me 1 less medium bolt, and only 1 REALLY LONG bolt - what's that all about? 4) Table: One of the drawers is completely jammed and takes a lot of force to pull out or push in. The other 3 are fine. 5) Chairs: 3 of the 4 chairs are wobbly, the 4 legs do not sit on the floor evenly. This is a MAJOR issue. 6) Chairs: The back of the padded seats is held by only 2 medium bolts to the chair back - not sure this is going to be sufficient in the long run. They should have a few more bolts for this attachment. 7) Chairs: Instruction (2) is all wrong. To get this right, you have to loosely bolt the R and L legs to the seat first, then align the stretcher and cross-bars before tightening the bolts. The stretcher does NOT attach to chair back. This made me waste almost 2 hours of figuring it out and trying different things. So overall, the set looks pretty solid but with a bunch of problems that make me a pretty frustrated customer for the price I paid and the quality I expected. ... show more
