    • Really great with a bit of a learning curve
So far (I've been using this for two weeks) I really enjoy this alarm. There was an adjustment period to waking up with the light but I adjusted in only two days and now, instead of snoozing for an hour, I snooze two or three times and I'm out of bed. My favorite feature is that I can set the radio as the alarm, turn the volume all the way down, and still use my phone as my sound alarm. I bet there's an alarm out there that links to my Spotify but not for $20, so no complaints. I agree with the other reviews discussing how easy it is to accidentally deactivate the alarm. I did have one morning where I didn't realize the alarm was not set. I also agree that I wish that I could have alarms set based on the day of the week, but this is only $20, so I think it is still worth the price. It's super easy to update the alarm time, so I just set myself a reminder for the night before to change the alarm time. Not a big deal for me, but if you are bad at this and absolutely need that feature, then this is not the alarm for you. I also agree that the alarm sounds aren't the best quality sound. It doesn't bother me at all because I like to use a Spotify playlist as my alarm sound. My only point of negative feedback is the instructions could have been more clear with how to turn off the light feature as it progresses in brightness. I eventually figured it out, but the first three mornings were annoying. I am dyslexic, so it's possible I keep missing it in the instructions, but I've read them over and over again to no avail. All you need to do is press and hold the light button till it shuts off. So, developers, maybe add that to the common question section or bold face that section or make a table for short hand instructions. Just a few thoughts. Again, I am overall very happy with this product for the price point. If you don't mind not having day specific alarms and you still want to use your phone alarm for a sound alarm, then this is the alarm for you! ... show more

    • Great value; makes morning easier
I wasn't sure what to expect as I had only heard about wake-up lights and this one was much less expensive than some of the other brands. I've been using it for a few weeks now, and I am very glad that I made this purchase. Here are a few thoughts: - A few reviewers have complained that it's difficult to use, so I made sure to follow the manufacturer's directions step by step. It was easy for me to get everything set how I wanted it by doing that. After the initial setup, it's been super easy to make time/alarm adjustments as needed. - The light doesn't typically wake me up, but it makes a HUGE difference in how I feel when my alarm goes off. I feel less jolted awake and less grumpy than I used to. - The light gradually gets brighter for a half an hour but then turns off shortly after the alarm time. I found that I like to have it on for a few minutes longer after my alarm goes off, so I set it about ten minutes later. However, I still use the alarm on my phone, so this wouldn't work for you if you want to use the alarm on the clock itself. - The sound options on the alarm aren't terrible, but I didn't love them. That's why I still use my phone. - I love the light for just having some brightness in the room without turning on lamps and things. I don't use the different colors, but the regular light has a nice ambiance. Overall, I highly recommend this light, especially if you can grab it on super sale like I did (sale price + an extra coupon). It's totally worth the money. ... show more

    • If you're a heavier sleeper, this is for you
I've used this product for a few weeks now and here are my takeaways: Pros - it was cheap which is perfect for trying it the concept of a sun light - it is small - this normally falls on the con list of these lights but I actually appreciate that the light does not shine front and back - it has enough customization to make it useful - sounds are not required for the alarm - the display for time can be turned off Con - this lamp was $40. I did not expect the light transitions to be amazing. In fact, the light does not smoothly transition at all. As other reviewers mentioned, it jumps from one light brightness to the next. You also cannot turn down the starting brightness level which is pretty bright for a dark room. You can change the color though - the alarm light does not automatically turn off. It's a little hard to get the light off if you're still during the alarm cycle so sometimes I forget to turn the alarm back on - no memory for last brightness level. When you turn on the led to use it just as a lamp or for wind down, it always starts at 100% Neutral - no weekend alarm - sleep sounds are nice but I don't know if having them on puts noise on the morning alarm so I don't use it - buttons. I like the mix of buttons - some on screen and others on top. I find them fairly intuitive once I remember which ones or which or just look at the buttons since the icons are self explanatory. I've read many reviews about sun alarm buttons lol. - the clock is mostly very stable. I read reviews that it falls over. I don't expect that but I did put a paper weight on the back just in case Overall, I use this lamp most mornings rather than my alarm. I enjoy waking up to it even if I don't get the gradual wake up I was hoping for. The alarm is set to 60 minute wake up time but the initial brightness is too bright and I'm usually up within 10 minutes. I can't imagine how bright it is on the 10 minute cycle! I point this away from my face to help. I'm a pretty light sleeper. Would I recommend this to you? If you don't wake up immediately to change in your room yes. Or if you hate an alarm sound and don't care if a light immediately wake you. I have not tried others to recommend but this is a really solid option especially for the price.
