This clock compared to my 20 year old Sony is like a command center for NASA. From sleek design and touch buttons, it's definitely an upgrade. Here is my list of likes and dislikes on this clock and they are compared to a 20 year old version so try not to laugh at me…. Likes: * The sunrise feature really does work! This is the best thing about this clock. It's a more natural awake and I am far less crabby these last two weeks of use * The lighting options are awesome * The alarm sounds are very soothing * The push buttons are very reactive * The time is easily set both forward and backward * The Snooze button is prominent above the others on top * On weekends, I'm able to shut off the LED into pure darkness and watch TV snuggled in my bed! Dislikes: * There are a lot of buttons on this clock and does take some getting used to in the beginning *No daylight savings shortcut setting * You cannot set the alarm by days * It is EXTREMELY easy to accidentally shut off this clock, the snooze button will snooze the alarm, but you need to ensure you don’t hit any of the other top buttons near it when you do it. (For instance, if you turn off the LED display before bed and then in the morning while in alarm mode, turn it back on to see what time it actually is, it will turn off the ALARM! I would love to dim the LED to blank everyday before bed, but I have to be mindful if I turn it back on in the morning. Overall, it's a an awesome clock and I find that it does naturally wake me more than the other one I have, I barely hit the snooze button now, but because of the alarm shut off with any button, I do set my other alarm as a back up for now until I break this one in more and get more disciplined. I’ve used this for a few days and tried a few different options to wake up to and so far my preferred setting is to not have the sunrise option as I am a light sleeper. Turning the clock towards the wall though I don’t mind it, but a few minutes into the 20 minute brightening procedure it wakes me up. I think the fact that the light starts 20 minutes before your intended wakeup time is what turns me off to the feature because I am a light sleeper so I just end up waking up 15-20 minutes before the alarm goes off. This leaves me with either being able to use the sunrise feature or use the clock at night. There are 6 options for sounds to wake up to and I find this nice. I do wish the waves were a little more involved though. It’s just the same wave sound played on a 3 second loopr. The nature sounds aren’t bad and the classical wedding type music is what I woke up to this morning. It’s pretty nice and I appreciate the variety. There is also the capability of waking up to the radio, but I’m not much of a radio person. The lighting options are nice. There’s two settings for the brightness of the time and that’s helpful because late at night dim is a preferable choice. The bezel of the clock itself though has either 6 or 7 colors you can select from and a choice of it constantly changing the color. Overall it’s an interesting feature and the colors are vibrant. The manual is really helpful and setup is pretty easy. It was packaged well and it arrived without any scratches or scuffs. I like that the clock comes with the CR2032 battery included. This battery saves all of your settings and will run your alarm clock in case of a power outage. The clock is easy to set and the alarm is as well. It has a big snooze button right up top, which is nice. I have used my cell phone for the past 7 or 8 years to wake me up, but I’m appreciating the benefits of an alarm clock and so far I’m really happy with it.

I've used this product for a few weeks now and here are my takeaways... updated after owning for almost a year: Pros - it was cheap which is perfect for trying it the concept of a sun light - it is small - this normally falls on the con list of these lights but I actually appreciate that the light does not shine front and back - it has enough customization to make it useful - sounds are not required for the alarm - the display for time can be turned off - it has physical buttons. I like the mix of buttons - some on screen and others on top. I find them fairly intuitive once I remember what buttons do what or just look at the icons which are self explanatory. I've read many reviews about sun alarm buttons lol. Con - this lamp was $40 so I did not expect the light transitions to be amazing. In fact, the light does not smoothly transition at all. As other reviewers mentioned, it jumps from one light brightness to the next. You also cannot turn down the starting brightness level which is pretty bright for a dark room. You can change the color though - the alarm light does not automatically turn off after the hour. I finally figured out how to do this - simply hold down the light button and it will turn off the light without turning off the alarm! - no memory for last brightness level. When you turn on the led to use it just as a lamp or for wind down, it always starts at 100% Neutral - no weekend alarm - sleep sounds are nice but the speaker is meh and I have a phone for this. I'd rather this feature not exist - the clock is mostly very stable. I read reviews that it falls over but this has never happened to me Overall, I use this lamp most mornings rather than my alarm. I enjoy waking up to it even if I don't get the gradual wake up I was hoping for. The alarm is set to 60 minute wake up time but the initial brightness is too bright and I'm usually up within 10 minutes. I can't imagine how bright it is on the 10 minute cycle! I point this away from my face to help. I'm a pretty light sleeper. Would I recommend this to you? If you don't wake up immediately to change in your room yes. Or if you hate an alarm sound and don't care if a light immediately wakes you. I have not tried others to recommend but this is a really solid option especially for the price. Read the manual and give it a try
