This grooming kit with the vacuum is outstanding. It is easy to use, easy to assemble and the sound from the vacuum was not so loud that my pets were scarred of it. I used it for our Jack Russel Terrier, Libby, who has the broken hair which is short and long hair mixed but she sheds a lot unless I keep it cut. The vacuum on this grooming kit left me with NO HAIR on myself or my clothes. Usually I am covered and then have a mess to clean up afterwards. Not with this pet grooming kit. Cut and vacuum at the same time!! That is such a blessing in itself. I also used it for our Great Pyrenees, Ava. She was somewhat reluctant to sit still with the sound from the vacuum but I got her used to the sound by turning it on and running it on low then switching to the higher suction while brushing her and she did great. Having the hose attached to the kit gave the extra length I needed to give her a good hair cut. We are talking 100 plus pound dog. But this kit did the job and did it well with her hair. I highly recommend this pet grooming kit. You get all the attachments with the kit and the hose length is perfect for being able to complete a haircut, even on a bigger dog. I haven’t used all the attachments that came with the kit yet but will. I am still amazed at the vacuum and the fact that when I am done grooming and cutting my pets, I am not covered in a pile of hair from them. It’s easily suctioned up and the canister holds a lot before having to clean it out. One con I have is the hose itself is somewhat stiff but with usage and time, I believe it will become more flexible. The Homeika H17 is great, effective and quiet. My dogs don’t like it yet but I’m working to train them up a bit more. An unexpected benefit is that the shaver tool is great for “de-pilling” my microfiber sofa. You have to be careful with it to not cut the fabric, but it’s great and quick and removing the pilled pet hairs that form on it. The vacuum has great suction and is very easy to empty and clean. Love this! I was nervous because my dog normally hates the sound of blow dryers and vacuums. But he has such long hair that sheds everywhere and no matter how much I brushed him, he was still scratching off chunks of undercoat all over my apartment. I needed to get the coat off quick to make him more comfortable and to get my floor back under control. I let him sniff it and cut it on level one, which is quite strong honestly but not too loud at all. He was nervous at first but once I started brushing him with the brush attachment he loved it! Literally curled up in my lap wanting me to keep going. I think the vacuum helps get more of the undercoat than I did with a regular deshedding brush, which he appreciated and enjoyed the feeling of getting all that uncomfortable extra fur off. Filled up the tank twice in my first go! The clipper function is soooooo nice! I trimmed up his paws and side burns too and it sucked the hair up instantly. I literally have no need to go to the groomers anymore and cleaning up is soooo easy ... show more

Love this product so far but also a little bit disappointed. First of all for the price, I think this is a pretty good buy. The vacuum is very quiet, and suction is quite efficient! I've only occasionally used the 2nd and 3rd fan speeds because level 1works well enough. The machine is cute! The set up tray is nice if you plan to have this out and on display, if not the bag that comes with it holds everything it comes with and has room for other grooming products you may have. The hair clippers and paw trimmers are excellent! I have like 4 sets of pet hair trimmers and the one that came with the vacuum tops them all. It's quick, quiet, and easy to use. I prefer to clip with the vacuum attached but you can also just use the clippers by themselves and being that the clippers are cordless and rechargeable just makes them that much more awesome. One of the attachments that I was super excited about was the vacuum lint brush. On the plus side it worked excellent. On the minus side... The cross weave fabric strips on either side of the attachment are already peeling off after less than a month of use. Another attachment that left me disappointed was the nail grinder. Either my dogs nails are all made of steel or the grinder was just ineffective. I've got 3 dogs. A boxer, a maltese, and a mid sized rando-mutt that just showed up one day. The grinder didn't work for any of their nails. Womp womp! All in all the positives outweigh the negative in my opinion. Despite the minor disappointments I would still recommend this machine. ... show more
