These go on a four-inch post. Easy to install. Except I use screws to prevent the kids from taking them off. When charged they have a very bright light for walkers. Which I've had walkers tell me this is why they use my sidewalk. Also, they prevent rain from getting inside the top.

Pleased on our first evening the lights are creating a soft glow and make a beautiful setting. They were simple to install over our 4” x 4” vinyl post. If you are confused about where the adapter is, it’s already mounted inside the cap. You have to remove it to fit the 4 x4 post.

GREAT bright lights & function, BUT they started to fade after a couple of years due to sun exposure. I purchased in 2021. The light output really is outstanding. We’ve never had to replace the rechargeable batteries! But we noticed the white plastic started to fade after the first year and turn yellow. These solar powered lights were easy to install on my fence and they look very nice. I did not notice the separate adapter for the smaller posts in the packaging which was a little disappointing and I graded this product average as the construction does not seem like it will Last or have a very premium appearance it is obvious that these are plastic. It was good to see that they worked as expected and turned on automatically once the sun went down. I did not notice anything related to motion detection while using these and the light that they give off is enough to see your keys or have a small amount of ambient light, but it is not significant enough to use as a primary source of light.
