The cables come with a third clamp and seem to be slightly thicker than standard cables so make sure your pulleys can fit them. One of the two I ordered was a little bent when unraveled and leads to my weights swinging a bit (perhaps 12 inches from center using a weight pin) while performing reps in fast succession. ... show more

Be prepared to buy different attachment to complete unit... The cable has been made thicker, stronger; BUT metal ring makes it impossible to build... Go to hardware store and buy next size up to get things going right... Unit purchased before had smaller diameter cable - this new one is thicker, stronger... If it weren't for this inconvenience it deserves a 5****... Use mine for crossover cable movement using pulleys and weight holder found on Amazon.... Maybe next shipment out they will supply the correct size horse shoe shaped ring... Maybe even sell it assembled would be excellent... Then just mount on the pulley of your choice... ... show more

I have an old school, plate load lat pull down/low row machine in my garage gym...it's gotta be 30-40 years old. I love the thing and use it on a daily basis. I'm not sure how old the cables were on the machine when I got it, but I know that I haven't replaced them in the 10 years that I have owned it. I finally bit the bullet and replaced both cables...and I am really glad that I did. Adjusting the cables to the exact lengths necessary was very easy and now the machine glides as smooth as ever. You should strip off the black plastic where you attach the clips and that makes the clips seem a little too big for this cable but they hold ok. I’m glad I bought this cable rather than spend more for a custom-made one. Custom might have looked slicker without the clips but after five minutes you don’t notice. My plastic cladding had come off and the bare cable was damaging the plastic sheaves. Now with a new cable which is also a little bigger in diameter than my original, my machine is nice and quiet again. ... show more

Only had this cable on for a short while but the plastic coating seems to roll very smoothly around the pulleys that I purchased on Amazon as well. But only time will tell the real quality.
