Holosun 407K X2. Before I 'review', it should be said that this is my first red dot on a handgun, and I fell in love with the concept, sooo... Mounted it on a new Equalizer, here's my info and thoughts; 1) Yes, it fits perfectly on the Equalizer with no plate or mill work needed on the slide. 2) No, it DOES NOT come with the correct screws to mount the site. This is bogus on the part of Holosun and needs to be addressed. Too pricey of a sight to not come with all types of mounting screws. 3) Because of that, you will need two 6-32 black oxide flat head socket screws. You can get these at most local hardware stores for about .40 cents each. I bought the 1/2" long overall length screws because that's all they had, but 9/16 or even 5/8" length would be better. The 1/2" do work though. Make sure you clean the oil off the screws and out of the slide holes before putting the loctite on and putting the screws in though. 4) Yes, it will barely co-witness with the OEM iron sights. It's not perfect by any stretch, as you can only see about 20% of the front sight, but in an emergency situation, the iron sights would be usable and accurate with the 407K mounted. 5) It works/fits very nicely with the IWB holster I bought (crossbreed). Took it to the range today. Wow. I was impressed! The 6MOA is perfect for me, and it only needed a few clicks up and right to be dead on after mounting it. Once sighted in, it held zero flawlessly round after round. I really like that you can change the battery without removing the sight, and the shake awake feature is super-sensitive and works very well. I love being able to stay on target with both eyes open to the surroundings. Despite the missing screws debacle, I would still buy it again. Nice sight.

Where to begin? Whenever you buy budget, or less expensive optics you always have to be skeptical if you're a smart buyer. If you're serious about quality, you really don't have to go any further than Holosun. I will admit, that this is the first time I ever bought a HOLOSUN product, and I have pretty much stuck to higher end, or if I was going to buy budget I looked at o l i g h t. For example, this has a shake awake or even better than that, I would call it a motion sensor. I think that's what they call it as well. What I mean is, as soon as you pick it up, the optic turns on and is ready to rock abd roll. It also turns on in the last setting that you had tuned in. This includes brightness, zeroing and clarity. After 10 minutes of non-use, the optic automatically turns off. I can't imagine anyone not liking that, but they do allow you to lengthen that time to 30 minutes and on to over an hour and a half and then even turn the feature off, although I don't have any idea why anybody would ever do that. To be perfectly honest, I was skeptical at first. I am a believer now. Let me address one elephant in the room. This optic does not come with any kind of a mounting plate those are firearms specific and you will have to purchase it separately they run between 30 and $50. They are titanium, in my case I needed to mount it to a Hellcat, and the plate was perfect! This is no slight on the manufacturer because they would have to include many, many different types of plates to mount different Optics across many platforms. It is irritating to have to buy a separate mounting plate but I completely understand why. Now there's another manufacturer out there that claims that you don't need a mounting plate for theirs however I've learned a lesson from this particular manufacturer in fact I actually have an email from that manufacturer with their similar product that's like $100 less however, there are some issues with regard to the perfect fit and he told me that I should use a tach hammer to hammer the site into place this is not this manufacturer but the manufacturer who I referred to earlier in this review. So this super bright Marvel doesn't need any of that you'll never have to whack this with a hammer or anything else. Kudos to the manufacturer however they gained the technology, (I know that this troubles some folks myselfincludedin some instances), however, they have improved on the technology, not merely mimicked the technology. In my humble opinion, this is probably worth about twice what it's listed for. It has an awesome build quality there's no question about it, the brightness we'll go as bright as you could possibly ever need and you can dim it in the same way depending on your environment. I can go on and on but I won't thank you very much this is an awesome purchase if I could give this 10 Stars I would!

Actually, I have the green dot. I love the shake-awake which means I can leave it turned on. When the battery finally does go, I like that the battery can be replaced without removing the unit. It was much easier to center than my old sight. It even comes with a tool to install and adjust.

The reviews speak for themselves. The 407/507 series has become known as one of the best in pistol red dots. I started out with a Shield RMSc for a G43x. The RMSc's auto brightness feature is a detriment in mixed lighting, as is the need to unmount it to change battery. The one thing I liked about that optic was the dot size. 4MOA is a really nice goldilocks zone between the 2 or 3 MOA dots and the 6MOA dot on this 407K. The 6MOA dot is really crisp with clean edges. I wondered if I had an astigmatism as long as I've been shooting, and it was this dot that taught me the others have all just been slightly fuzzy dots. This one is a nice round circle. For a pistol it's a very functional size but 4MOA would be just as quick to pick up and a little better for precision. 2MOA is too small and the 32MOA circle in the 507K was TERRIBLE in my opinion. I tried the 507K before returning it and finalizing on the 407K. The EPS Carry wasn't available when I bought this and I do think the enclosed emitter would be superior. I get some lint on the inside of the window and could see debris getting in the emitter. The only other thing I'd like to see is the front lug holes to fit the RMSc mounting pattern without a plate. I bought the C&H mounting plate for this which works great. I considered shaving down the lugs to direct-mount the 407K but decided I could manage with the plate. If you do file down the lugs at a G43x/48, this can be flush mounted. If it's flush mounted the stock sights are visible at the bottom of the window. With a plate the bottom half of the front sight dot is cut off, so higher sights would be needed. With 1,000 rounds down range with this I trust it as a carry solution. I might upgrade to an EPS Carry at some point for the enclosed emitter, and would welcome a 4MOA option if Holosun releases one later.

Great red dot, especially for the price. The 6 moa dot is crisp and can go incredibly bright making it ideal in all lighting conditions even with a flashlight on. Took it to the range and ran about 200 rounds and kept zero just fine. Also was great that it came with an Amazon qr code to verify the authenticity of the product. Pros - sturdy metal construction (can take a beating) - clear thick glass - clarity of the dot - audible clicks - battery is easy to replace on the side Cons - the left and right adjustment is in the side instead of on top so it feels like it would make sense for the adjustment to be switched logically - had to buy a silicone protector for it separately would have been nice if it was included - in wish they had an acss 407k option that included a 230 moa outer circle and 6moa inner circle that would be my perfect carry optic All in all I'm really happy with this purchase. It definitely lives up to the hype. I wanted something I could use in defense situations that was easy to see and a red dot I could rely on that held zero like a champ and was built to last. This met all that criteria in spades. Big fan of this brand and would purchase from them again.
