Shake Awake technology conserves battery by powering the sight on with motion and turning it off when idle. Lock Mode—first introduced in Holosun's law enforcement models—prevents accidental changes to settings, making it an excellent choice for defensive carry. The "K" series is built with a rugged 7075-T6 aluminum housing and is IP67 waterproof-rated for durability in harsh conditions. This is my 3rd Holosun purchase and I couldn’t be happier. This one I got specifically for my EDC. It’s a reflex which means it is not enclosed and sealed off to dust, rain and debris, but it’s still super reliable. The battery life is insane, boasting around 50,000 hours - that’s like 4-5 years. So if you have the dot at a moderate brightness, and the “shake awake” setting on, which puts the dot to sleep after 10 minutes and instantly turns on at the sign of any movement whatsoever, you can change the battery once per year or once every two years and still be confident it’ll be at the ready when you need it. This was essentially zeroed out the box for my p365 but it does come with a tool to adjust windage etc if need be, simple clicks. I recommend a laser bore sighter in red to properly align the dot if you need one. Other than that it should hold zero easily because of the side panel battery compartment, which means you can change the battery without having to remove the Holosun. This thing is durable, has a great bright and accurate laser with a low co-witness depending on your irons, it’s easy to use with simple controls, and it’s durable as heck! The only small caveats that would make me want another model would be: 1. If I wanted enclosed 2. A different Holosun with the solar backup panel (this does not have it but it’s a VERY slim and small reflex) 3. Variation of the dot (this is 6moa green dot only, no crosshairs or circles) Well built, affordable and high quality. You can’t go wrong. ... show more

I paired the HOLOSUN HE407K-GR-X2 with my Hellcat Pro for concealed carry, and it’s been a flawless experience from day one. The green 6MOA dot is incredibly crisp, easy to pick up under stress, and ideal for rapid target acquisition. Pros: Shake Awake is a Game Changer: The motion-activated feature works perfectly—wake it up instantly just by drawing, with no need to fumble for buttons. Saves battery and adds a level of readiness that’s hard to beat. Super Clear Glass: The lens clarity is excellent. No glare, distortion, or tint issues. It provides a sharp sight picture both in daylight and low-light environments. Green Dot Visibility: The green dot really stands out, especially in bright conditions. The optic itself 10/10. I fw the fact that the dot can only be seen by you. They will never see it coming. It was a quick install. The only thing is the screws, The screws that fit were too long . I had to use some other ones. If u buy this product you'll need shorter screws. They sent me like 3 sizes 2 were too fat and the other was too long. This is something they should fix especially with it being almost $300. ... show more

    • The right choice for old eyes on a subcompact pistol

This is my third Holosun purchase, having a product on a 9MM PC Carbine and the 507C on a Gen 4 Glock 17. I recently bought a new Sig P365 for EDC purposes and wavered on whether or not put an optic on it or not. The short sight radius, combined with my aging eyes, told me to at least give it a try. I wavered between the 407K X2 and the 507K X2. Because of the size of the sight picture, combined with the fact that the larger 30 MOA ring and with 2 MOA dot on the 507, gave me the sense there would be a lot going on here. For those reasons I went with the 407, which has a 6 MOA dot and nothing else. It was the right choice for me; whether it is for you is up to you. This is not about precision as much as it is fast target acquisition, and it does it's job. Whether there is truth behind green being better for those with an astigmatism is up for debate. I personally prefer the green, but the red sight picture on my 507C has never been a challenge to use, so who knows. All in all, this is a great little package and offers an awful lot for the dollar spent. ... show more
