A couple of things that would have made it a 5 Star would be; 1-have better motion detection. I have to wave my hand a couple of times to wake up the light genie 2-have timer options. If I’m standing there looking at clothes it goes off 3-override switch on/timer/off. There’s on controls on the light only motion sensor. I really liked these lights at first under my kitchen cabinets, but soon discovered when I have my small kitchen night light on they won't turn on, which defeats the whole purpose. I was trying to prevent turning on the big overhead light every time I go in the kitchen. :-( IT ALSO TURNS ON IN THE DAYTIME EVERY TIME I WALK IN THE KITCHEN, EVEN THOUGH IT'S UNDER MY KITCHEN CABINET, JUST WASTING THE BATTERY! These lights work well but only with some fairly quick adjustments I found in other reviews. If you are not willing to do these adjustments, I would not recommend buying the lights. For the first adjustment people recommend blocking the photocell with black electrical tape because otherwise the lights will only work if it is completely dark. I added the lights under cabinets and that area will almost never be completely dark so they would not work without this adjustment. The most useful review (with pictures) I found to explain how to do this is https://smile.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R2LH05Z8R87Y9C/ref=cm_cr_getr_d_rvw_ttl?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B06XW3B4DK (thank you original commenter!). The second recommended adjustment is to consider blocking a portion of the motion sensor. After blocking the photocell, the motion sensor was trigger the lights too often for me. I blocked it so the motion needed to be closer to trigger. This was less annoying and will also save the battery life. Speaking of, I purchased rechargeable batteries. I have not had them for long enough to need to recharge yet but it is probably a good idea long-term to get rechargeable batteries instead of single use for these. ... show more

I live in an area where the electric goes out every time the wind blows. I meant to purchase some lighting to use when this happens, preferably with a remote or on/off switch. In my haste, I did not thoroughly read the description and ordered these. Decided to put them up in my bathroom, hallway and over the front door. The areas I wanted light when the electric went out. I actually love the motion detection and see the benefits even when I have electricity. No more turning on lights on the midnight trips to the bathroom, tripping over dog toys in the hallway and light when I enter the house. These will also be great when the electricity goes out.
