I do a lot of camping, and also live in the mountains where we get a lot, and I mean a lot of rain! While I have a camper van, it gets very crowded inside so its really nice to have some outdoor space to hang out in while the rain is falling. I've been using this HLong canopy tent now for 5 days, and it's been perfect timing since it's rained every day so far. Some notes on this canopy tent: Setup: Setup is pretty easy after you've done it the first time. Its not hard for one person to set it up, but the first time it does help to have 2 people since you have to attach the tent fabric to the frame the first time you use it. After that, you can leave the tent fabric on the frame and it's pretty easy to setup solo. Storage Bag: The included storage bag/case is pretty well constructed and it is large enough to pack up the tent without too much struggling. The wheels are a nice addition but they could be improved. While they work on pavement fine, on grass or gravel they do not work very well. I have another canopy tent that has much larger wheels that I can roll on both gravel and grass so that would be a nice improvement. Sun Protection: This works perfectly for sun protection and keeps the sun off you very well but lets enough light through to see fine while cooking and hanging out. The vented top of the canopy works great to increase air flow and keep things cool Rain Protection: It works fairly well for rain protection but due to the design of the vented top and inclusion of several grommet holes some water does leak down. Misc: One great feature of this tent is it extends out 13 feet while most pop up tents are only 10 feet. This is a great feature when you have several people. It extends both the sun and rain protection. The same vented top though does allow some rain drip, and also there are several grommet type holes in each side of the tent, and while small water does drip on them during rain. The design of this frame is different than most canopy tents, so attached generic side walls will be a bit of a challenge. This is a great looking canopy tent, so it would be well suited for a wedding or other event where style matters, and it does look far better than your average big box store canopy tent.

Pop-up canopies are so useful! We do a lot of camping and these really come in handy since the weather can be so unpredictable. We usually bring one of these along to set up so that if it rains, we have some kind of additional roomy, open space shelter instead of our cramped tents. Since this is vented and does have a few grommet holes, it isn't completely waterproof. For us, that is totally fine, as long as we are getting some protection. Assembly was a cinch. I was expecting something insanely complicated like putting together a camping tent. Not at all! My husband and I were able to set it up in less than 10 minutes. The only reason it even took that long is because you have to attach the actual canopy to the frame before use. Once that is attached, it would be very easy for one person to set this up. This tent is surprisingly HEAVY!! WOW! The included wheeled bag is a nice added touch and very convenient for lugging it around. The frame feels very hefty, solid, and durable. While I have only had it a few weeks, I think it will hold up well over time. I really hope so because we already have so many uses planned for it! The fabric of the canopy feels very durable and thick. I can't say that it would withstand heavy winds and don't plan on testing it out but it will definitely hold up perfectly fine through normal weather conditions. It is much heavier duty than other pop-up canopies we have used or owned. The 13x13 size is SO NICE!!!! It is larger than most pop-up canopies sold locally. Every one we have owned or set up was a 10x10. I definitely like this one better. Sun protection and air circulation - It offers plenty of shade from the scorching sun. I absolutely love the vented top as it can get VERY hot and stuffy under one of those in 90-100 degree heat. The quality of this pop-up canopy is top notch. It is nicer than any that I have owned or assembled in the past. I would highly recommend it!

I like the size of this sun shelter. The legs fold out to a 10 x 10-foot size, but the top extends out farther to give additional coverage. I was looking for something to fit over two 8-foot dining tables with chairs and I think this will work. Also, the vented top will keep heat from building up underneath, which can be a problem with this type of shelter in the summer. However, that vented top means that this will not work very well as a shelter against rain. Also, there were four grommet holes in the fabric top that were not on the pictures and not mentioned in the instructions. I assume they were put there for the purpose of attaching guy lines to keep it from blowing away. Ropes and stakes were included. But those four holes would also leak during a rainstorm. This thing is heavy. One person can move it, because the case has wheels and handles, but it would be difficult to put it up alone. The four legs must be pulled away from the center to extend the top of the frame, the two fabric top pieces have to be attached, and then the legs have to be extended to their full height. The large top piece is attached with velcro but the small one fits onto four projections on the frame, so it fell off when we took the shelter down and will have to be reattached each time we use it. (We took the large one off too, to be able to fold it up more neatly.) The shelter was sturdy when we had it up, even without driving the stakes into the holes at the bottom of the four legs. The package included four black bags with velcro fasteners that were not mentioned in the instructions. It looked like they were meant to fasten to the four legs to help weigh them down. The bags had open tops and looked like you could fit a two-liter bottle filled with water or sand into each one, but I did not have any bottles on hand to verify this. If you are looking for sun protection, I would recommend this shelter. If you need protection from rain, I would look somewhere else. We are looking forward to using it.
