This front site is bright. Even on a cloudy day it is bright and easy to see. OK, I installed this on my Walther PD380. It was not exactly a direct replacement for the stock front site. Walther uses a counter sunk screw and it is too long for this site as it will impact on the fiber. So, I purchased a screw from Ebay and filed it down so that it securely holds the site but does not impact the fiber. This is not a ding on the site. HiViz does not indicate it is for the PD380 (but the PD380 does use Glock style sites. This site is aligns well with the notch of the stock rear site. There is enough daylight to each site of the front site. Site alignment really is easy. Pick up of the green dot is super fast. Once I take the PD380 to range I will update this review on the durability and stability and perhaps give a 5 star. ... show more

Loved my new pew, but my eyes didn't love the factory front sight. Swapped this in and... I can see! I don't own the Block tool, so I applied thread locker to the screw hole, then used a pencil eraser to start the set screw. Worked great! I mounted this on my Glock 20 10mm gen 3 and found that it is too low. I need to purchase a taller sight as even at 6 o'clock hold the impacts are high at 25 yards. The front sight need to be much taller in order to make the point of aim and impact coincide. I planned on hunting with this pistol and find although the sight is bright outdoors the height is incorrect. I also noted that the sight is not truly a fiber optic sight but a plastic optic sight. I examined the spare inserts and found them to be hard injection mold type plastic. That explains why in low light they are not very bright. I have other fiber optic sights and found them to be bright even in the lowest of light. I do not expect fiber optic to glow at night or in the dark but many of the fiber optic sights I own, both on rifles and pistols, and even my Bow are very bright and glow easily with even a small amount of light from a lamp when indoors. The sight is well built as far as the cage that the snap in color inserts go. and the design is slightly different than the photo provided, as they metal cage is zig zag instead of straight bare style, but it is well protected. If you are looking for a front sight for point of aim and impact to be the same at anywhere from 5-25 yards look elsewhere, this front sight is too low. The rear sight on my pistol cannot get any lower as the factory notch is as low as any sight can be made. This means that the rear sight needs to go down or the front sight needs to go up in order to lower the impact of the bullets to near point of aim. I fired several different weights and manufacturers ammo, even the Underwood Hot loads in 200 grn. XTP bullets and they struck high. The cheap ball ammo I purchased hit high as well but not as high. the impacts from 25 yards were between 3"-6" high. I had to "balance the Ball" which is 6" diameter impact stick on target and the impacts were still a tad high, which would be ok I guess if I were shooting out to 100 yards which I would not with this caliber. The sight is ok, that's all. I will pay more and purchase a real fiber optic front sight that is much taller soon. ... show more
