Very nice little welder for the price. This came very handy when doing little to bigger products around the house or at work. For the price, you can't go wrong. Just buy a helmet and some sticks, if not already, and good to go. Functions as it should with a decent amount of power and light weight so you don't break your back when carrying it around. I’ve been really happy with this 200-amp stick welder. It works great and came with pretty much everything needed to start welding right away, other than a helmet and gloves. Setup was quick and straightforward. What I like most is how portable it is. It’s small and light enough to keep in my truck, and I actually bring it with me to the shooting range so I can fix steel targets right there instead of hauling them home. It doesn’t take much power either because I can run it off 2000amp inverter in my truck with no issues. I also own a skid steer and a mini excavator, and having a compact welder on hand is super useful for quick field repairs when something small breaks or cracks. It’s not a replacement for a big shop welder, but as a portable or backup unit, it’s hard to beat for the price. I tested it by welding two bolts together and the penetration was solid, melted everything together nicely. The arc is smooth and consistent for a welder this size. Overall, it’s a solid little machine, easy to use, easy to carry, and totally worth it as a backup or travel welder.

I cannot believe what this can do for how small it is. I thought the box was small when it arrived then I opened it and found it well packaged with bubbles all the way around it. I am not a professional welder, I do it for fun/hobby. It has been years since I tried stick welding. After a few tests I got a decent bead on a piece of 3/8” angle iron at 125 amps., it welded right through paint without issue. The best part is it runs on 120v. Please don’t bash my welds, like I said It’s been years since I’ve stick welded.

I read the reviews and, based on them, purchased this welder. Boy, was that a mistake. Hard to strike an arc, let alone maintain one. And the welds were all over the map; either too cool or too hot. The adage is you get what you pay for. In this case, that's absolutely true. Furthermore, I've been doing some research on stick welders and stick welding in general. The truth is that to do stick welding decently well, you just can't get into it for $50. The components are crap, the accessories are crap, and the welding experience is therefore also crap. I wound up sending it back (thank you, Amazon) and now have a machine you can pick up on Amazon for $119: a Riland Arc200 Pro. The difference is night and day; it's huge. My recommendation is to spend a little more and get a machine that will actually do the work, and do it well.
