  • Hisense API0825UW1D Smart Inverter Twin Hose 8,000 BTU (DOE) Portable Air Conditioner Hisense API0825UW1D Smart Inverter Twin Hose 8,000 BTU (DOE) Portable Air Conditioner
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Heat and Cool Smart Inverter
I've been using the Hisense API0825UW1D for a couple of weeks now in my living room, which is about 300 square feet, and it's quickly become one of my favorite home appliances. As someone living in a hot, humid climate, I needed a portable AC that could cool efficiently without being a power hog or sounding like a jet engine. This tower-style unit fits the bill perfectly—it's a smart inverter model with twin hoses for better efficiency, rated at 8,000 BTU (DOE) for spaces up to 350 square feet, and it doubles as a heater, dehumidifier, and fan. Plus, it has smart features for app control, which is a nice bonus. Design and Setup The design is sleek and modern, with a tall, slim tower profile that doesn't take up much floor space—it's about 40 inches high and easy to move around on its casters. The white finish blends in well with my decor, unlike some bulkier portables that look industrial. Setup was straightforward: the twin-hose system (one intake, one exhaust) vents through a window adapter, which sealed nicely without much hassle. It's not the lightest at around 60 pounds, but the handles make it manageable. Performance and Cooling This thing cools like a champ. I measured the air coming out of the vents at around 54°F on a hot day, which dropped my room temperature from 84°F to a comfortable 72°F in under an hour. The inverter technology keeps it running smoothly without the constant on-off cycling of older units, leading to more consistent cooling and less energy waste. It also has a heat mode for cooler months, though I haven't tested that yet. Energy-wise, it's impressive. The max wattage consumption hits about 700W during peak operation, but in quiet mode, it drops to around 220W, which is fantastic for keeping electricity bills in check. I've been running it daily without noticing a huge spike in my usage. The dehumidifier function pulls out a ton of moisture too—great for muggy days. Noise Level One of the standout features is how quiet it is. In standard mode, it's noticeable but not intrusive (around 50-55 dB, I'd guess), but switch to quiet mode, and it hums along at a whisper—perfect for watching TV or working. No rattling or vibrations either, which plagued my old portable AC. Smart Features and Controls The "smart" part shines with Wi-Fi connectivity and app integration. I can control it via my phone, set schedules, or even use voice commands with Alexa or Google Assistant. The remote is intuitive, and the LED display on the unit is clear. Pros Efficient and powerful cooling: Handles 350 sq ft easily with cold 54°F output. Energy-saving: 700W max, but 220W in quiet mode—big win for eco-conscious users. Quiet operation: Ideal for bedrooms or quiet spaces. Sleek design: Looks good and easy to move. Versatile: Cool, heat, dehumidify, fan modes all in one. Twin-hose efficiency: Better than single-hose models at keeping hot air out. Cons It's a bit pricey upfront compared to basic portables, but the inverter tech justifies it. The hoses are a tad short (about 5 feet), so placement near a window is key. App setup was finicky at first, but works fine now. Final Thoughts Overall, I'd give the Hisense API0825UW1D a solid 4.8 out of 5. It's quiet, sleek, and delivers serious cooling without guzzling power, making it a smart choice for apartments or homes without central AC. It's so effective and unobtrusive that I'm now seriously contemplating getting a second one for the bedroom. With its cold output and low noise, we could raise the home thermostat a few degrees overall, spot-cool where needed, and save on energy costs. If you're in the market for a reliable portable AC with modern features, this one's a winner—highly recommended! ... show more

  • One of the best inverter compact air conditioner on Market One of the best inverter compact air conditioner on Market
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Heat and Cool Smart Inverter
This Hisense portable air conditioner is a truly unique upright tower-style inverter model — one of a kind in the market. Hisense, a long-established Chinese brand, has earned my trust from past products such as TVs and other portable air conditioners. The build quality of this unit is excellent. The plastic molding is thick and high-grade, the finish is smooth, and the unit feels solid and substantial. It is quite heavy, which actually reflects the quality of materials and insulation used. The system includes two flexible hose pipes that connect easily to the window kit. Installation works best with sliding windows — it won’t fit well on traditional hinged type window. This AC uses inverter compressor technology, which makes a big difference in performance and comfort. The compressor starts very softly and runs almost silently. I also own the Midea Duo and LG inverter models, and the Hisense has the lowest compressor noise among them. The sound insulation around the compressor seems especially well engineered. The fan speed control could be smoother; the lowest fan level isn’t quite as quiet as LG or Midea units. For light sleepers, this matters because inverter ACs don’t turn completely off — they reduce both compressor and fan speed once the target temperature is reached. Even so, the overall noise level is very low, and the temperature stability is excellent, maintaining a steady comfort level all night. Power draw peaks around 1,200 W, then stabilizes near 400 W after reaching the set temperature — impressively efficient for an 8,000 BTU unit. The temperature sensors are accurate and display current room temperature in the Hisense app, which helps ensure consistent cooling across the space. The dual-hose design means the condenser uses outside air, preventing negative pressure and avoiding hot air from leaking back into the room — a major plus. The auto-evaporation system eliminates the need for manual draining. It also includes a heating function that performs very well. The unit offers Wi-Fi connectivity and works seamlessly with Google Assistant, Alexa, and Siri, as well as Matter support, which is a welcome addition for smart-home users. There are a few considerations: At 8,000 BTU, it’s best suited for smaller to mid-sized rooms. The unit is heavy and tall, so if your window is low, it may partially block the view. Occasionally, at very low temperatures, you can hear the refrigerant flow noise — not a defect, but mildly noticeable. The lowest fan speed could be quieter. Despite minor issues, this is an impressive and thoughtfully designed inverter portable air conditioner. Hisense deserves credit for creating a space-saving upright tower model that combines power efficiency, quiet operation, and strong build quality. I’ve had great experiences with the brand before, and this unit reinforces that trust. If you’re looking for a modern, quiet, and smart portable air conditioner, I highly recommend this Hisense model. ... show more

  • You're a title
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Heat and Cool Smart Inverter
While my central AC's being repaired, 2 of these units are filling in (1 on each floor of a townhouse). They've held up well, including over a 90F degree weekend. They've not only kept their immediate rooms cool, they've kept other rooms on their respective floors tolerable. The dual hoses and inverter have vented most of the heat in the correct direction. Haven't had to insulate the hoses at all. They were trivial to install into the window panels, and the panels were pretty easy to install into the window. Sound levels have been tolerable. There's a bit of humming and slight vibrating at the lowest temp (61F), but they're easily the quietest portable units I've ever heard. The self-evaporating feature has worked perfectly so far. It's so nice not needing to drain it every 10-12 hours (or having to hook up a hose). Unpacking was a model for other similar devices. While there's plenty of padding at the bottom, it's just a matter of cutting the nylon straps and lifting the box up; no need for tipping or for having to cut open the long side of the box. The manual and accessories are nestled in one of the insulation bits, so keep an eye out for them. As for issues, the weight and size are greater than expected. Lifting them up 1-2 flights wasn't easy, even for a reasonably fit person. Fully recommend a handcart with straps, especially a cart that'll handle stairs easily. The units wheel alright over hard surfaces. Carpet or rugs are a bit trickier. Other than that is the power draw. These 2 units have consumed 50% more electricity than my central AC does during comparable weather. Not exactly a surprise, but something to keep in mind. Lastly is one minor UX piece. It'd be nice for the temperature buttons to have a hold feature. As is, the buttons need to be pressed for each degree you wish to adjust. In other words, if it's currently set to 70F and I want to change it to 75F, I have to push the button 5 times (instead of pressing once and holding). Can't speak to the bluetooth or remote control features as I haven't used them yet. Overall, I'm pleased with these units. They're the best portable ACs I've used. They'll fill in well for my purposes, and it's good to have backup units again. ... show more

  • This is easily the best portable AC I’ve ever owned.
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Heat and Cool Smart Inverter
This is a long review, but if you’ve had issues with portable units in the past—too loud, uneven cooling, bulky—this might be exactly what you’re looking for. I live in a 500-sq-ft studio in a 100-year-old historical landmark building where window units aren’t allowed, so a portable AC is my only option. Even though this model is rated for 350 sq ft, it cools the entire place—bathroom and all—without breaking a sweat. It doesn’t blast freezing air at the vents like some units, but the whole room stays the same temperature from one end to the other. That kind of even cooling reminds me more of a heat pump than a typical portable AC. I haven’t had to drain any condensation, either. As for operation—it’s virtually silent. No rattles, no thumps, no loud startup sounds, no hurricane-level Arctic blast of air right at the unit—just a gentle fan. What really blew my mind? There’s a button on the remote labeled “Quiet.” I honestly don’t know how it could be any quieter without turning off completely. Between the quiet operation, consistent cooling, efficient design, and small footprint, this is easily the best portable AC I’ve ever owned. Worth every penny. ... show more

  • Let me just say something Let me just say something
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Heat and Cool Smart Inverter
I can confirm that this air conditioner has been working wonders for my spouse and I. Selecting an air conditioner was a headache for me because I wanted something QUIET. I cannot stand noise when I’m sleeping, it has to be dark, quiet and cool in my room. So I found this hidden gem, let me just say I’m on week three of having this unit and it surprisingly amazed me of just how quiet this thing is! Like a gentle airy breeze coming from outside, it’s quieter than people whispering in a library. Now, I’ve said it’s quiet and IT IS. I do keep mine on the lowest fan speed + turning on the quiet feature. It is still quiet without the quiet feature turned on. You may select a few fan speed modes, you can have the vents swing side to side to move air flow around, it has a timer and a light dimmer mode! I do have the dimmer turned on so there are no opaque White LEDS shining on me while I rest. My only issue I have with Hisense is the fact that this unit is a smart device, their app that we are supposed to use for the unit is not reliable, it crashes. It was lasted updated in 2020 (6 years ago!) so the app is useless and more people need to complain about it so Hisense can fix it! Overall I do like this unit very much, it has nice crispy cold air and did I mention IT’S QUIET! I will update my review in the future if anything changes but for now that’s all I got. ... show more

  • Outstanding just don't know about heat yet
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Heat and Cool Smart Inverter
(I can't say enough about this ac unit I haven't needed to empty water once yet. The cooling is great I wish I could review the heater side of it but the summers still to hot to fool with it. The ONLY bad thing I can say about it is the place where the hoses clips into the window board leaves a small crack because of the clip but it's easily filled with a bit of the extra foam.) That was my first impression and the ac side is still great but the heater side i now dislike and think it's mostly useless the problem is that it requires you to keep the windows exhaust hooked up even just for the heat so unless you are going to insulate the window board and pipes it's going to be a losing proposition so like I said other than light heat in early fall useless!! ... show more

  • I can control the switch at will and save electricity I can control the switch at will and save electricity
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Heat and Cool Smart Inverter
This portable air conditioner is a bit tall, almost 50 inches tall, but it doesn't take up much space, 13.8 inches long and 13.2 inches wide. I like its design very much, it's easy to clean the dust on the shell, it doesn't require me to connect an extra drainage duct during the cooling process, if I connect a water pipe it can become a very powerful dehumidifier. My central air conditioner broke down, and I didn't want to spend expensive repair fees, so I bought this portable air conditioner and installed it in my master bedroom. It has a very fast cooling efficiency and can quickly make my room feel cool. When I go to bed at night, I can press the silent mode, it will automatically minimize the noise, there is still a little sound but it is within an acceptable range. I usually just turn it on for a few hours and then turn it off when I wake up from the cold. It is worth mentioning that it also has a timer function, you can set the time, it is easy to install, you can easily do it yourself without asking someone to install it! It saves my electricity bill a lot! It has three functions: cooling, heating, and dehumidification. At present, I only use the cooling one. It is high quality and worth the money! ... show more

  • Just what I needed: a portable mini-split
Size: 1 Count (Pack of 1) Style: Heat and Cool Smart Inverter
If you have a small bedroom with standard west coast sliding windows, this is the machine for you. Do NOT cheap out on other single hose units without the inverter. They will trip your breakers and if they are too big will introduce moisture into the room. This unit is actually quiet and starts up gently without the power spike. The dual hoses ensure the motors are cooled by outside air and no drawing in room air creating a vacuum that sucks in even more outside air. Only Cons so far is the panel that goes in the window is a little finicky and they don’t give you much foam strips to plug the holes so buy extra. The cost is pretty high for a bedroom AC, if you know how to safely install an actual wall mounted mini split go that route and it’s about the same cost. Lastly, it’s pretty huge. The pedastal and dual hoses make it take up as much floor space as a less narrow unit. It’s also like 4 feet tall. But for me I’d rather give up the space for something that actually works and doesn’t make rooms smell while risking burning down my house due to electrical issues. Plus the WiFi and Amazon Alexa integration is nice so you don’t even need the remote. It took me about 20 minutes to get it unpacked and installed. Read the manual and it will go smoothly. ... show more
