  • Started immediately. Lowered RH from 48 to 40 in about 1 hour. Rolls well on hard surfaces. Started immediately. Lowered RH from 48 to 40 in about 1 hour. Rolls well on hard surfaces.
This dehumidifier has a 35 pint-per-day capacity with a slide-out water bucket plus a hose connection. It is rated for up to 3,000 square feet, started immediately when plugged in, set itself to manual mode, high fan speed, and 50% relative humidity. The bucket is easy to remove by pulling straight out using the grab slots on the sides. It rolls very easily, at least on a solid surface. It also has a screen filter on the rear for the air intake that is easily removed, but I worry the tiny tabs might break over time since it took some force to put it back in place. I then set it to auto mode, and it ran fine. Finally, I set it to manual mode at 40% humidity and low fan speed. Note the fan can be easily heard, but from a distance is more like white noise. This is so much quieter that those from years ago where you could hear both the compressor plus the fan running. I then waited to ensure it would cycle off when it reached the set point. After reaching and holding there for a while, the compressor and fan turned off. Both cycled back on as the humidity rose again. Note one can only set the humidity in increments of 5%. It took about 1 hour to lower the humidity from about 48 to 40%. As with all dehumidifiers, the Hisense model does put out warmed air due to the refrigeration cycle. Condensation of water from the moist air depends on that cycle cooling down the coil surface, but then the exhaust air is heated when the refrigerant gets re-compressed. This Hisense dehumidifier ran well and appears ideal for a basement where the slightly heated air from the device might not be an issue in a cooler basement. ... show more

  • Compact, effective and customizable
I’ve been using this Hisense branded dehumidifier on “auto” mode for a few weeks in my audio studio and it has definitely made a difference in keeping the humidity down. The studio used to be a garage and is largely in the shade, which means the air is often cool and moist. My old dehumidifier was large, very noisy, but effective. When it was running, it created quite a bit of heat, which in a way I didn’t always mind, but being an audio studio the noise was at times unbearable. It had no auto mode per se. Just a threshold setting but it was a blunt tool compared to this unit. And in the summer when it was hot and humid, it was unbearably warm. The Hisense does not run nearly as warm. I like that there are three modes of operation - auto, manual, and continuous. It’s easy to find the right setting for the situation. It is smaller than my old unit - but I much prefer the smaller water tank because it is easier to take to the sink. The other aspect of this unit to mention is aesthetic. It just looks good. My old dehumidifier was not good looking, with an aggressive vent design on the front that stuck out. This looks almost like a modern trashcan, and fits in perfectly with the equipment in the room. Being somewhat less powerful by design it is also less aggressively dehumidifying which is good for the guitars and other equipment. It does however dehumidify effectively. The settings on the Hisense allow me to dial in just the right amount to make the room comfortable and appropriately dry for the space and air condition. ... show more

  • works great
This dehumidifier has worked very well for reducing excess moisture in my home. It pulls a surprising amount of water from the air and has helped make the space feel much more comfortable. One of the things I like most is how quiet it is while running. It's noticeable, but not disruptive, making it a great option for bedrooms, bathrooms, or other living spaces. The slide-out bucket is easy to remove and empty, and the controls are simple to use. Overall, this is an effective, energy-efficient dehumidifier that does its job well without creating a lot of noise. I'm very happy with its performance. ... show more

  • Works great for small/medium spaces
This dehumidifier replaced an older GE 35 pint unit. It performs about the same as the old unit, and keeps the space nice and dry. It can fill the tank in about 12 hours in our basement so it does need emptying unless you are able to take advantage of the drain hose port. It is a bit quieter than our older GE unit too. Every once in a while the compressor can resonate at a frequency that causes a bit of rattle, but adjusting the water basin takes care of it quick enough. Overall very pleased with how it has performed ... show more

  • Quiet. Pulls a LOT of water for a compact humidifier. Slightly delayed controls.
As above. You're getting exactly (probably) what you expect. Here is my test case from Hot and constantly Humid Houston, Texas. It has the Apple IPhone, "lost in the background" minimalist look. I appreciate that because absolutely no attention is drawn to it. All the functions work as expected - I kept it on continuous to run for about 3 days straight. 1st. It's quiet, and it produced a vast amount of water. Far more than I would expect for a unit this size. It needs to be emptied MULTIPLE times EVERY DAY. 2nd. It comes from a well-regarded budget to mid level brand. It is NOT an "insert randomized name here for our untested product". 3rd. The only drawback is the quirky touchpad. There is no button feel because it uses touch contacts. There is also a notable delay that I find to be a very mild frustration. Overall, it's straightforward (easy to use) and compact. YES, I Recommend it. Why? It's not a lot of money at all ($99 at time of review), I have observed no issues, and most importantly, it is sold by a brand with a reputation to uphold. Hisense makes cheap stuff, but rarely junk. Recommended! 3rd. ... show more

  • Wow, this is excellent!!! Wow, this is excellent!!!
I live in Florida where there’s a lot of humidity, so a big dehumidifier sounded like a necessity. And boy, it sure is- it’s a game changer! It’s super easy to use after plugging in, but there are a few different settings so be sure to read the included instructions. It is BIG, and quite heavy but it’s got wee handles on the sides towards to top AND WHEELS!!! After using for several days (only a couple hours each evening) I’ve noticed a difference; the air definitely feels cooler. One thing- just be sure to keep checking to make sure the water reservoir doesn’t overflow; there’s an indicator light that tells you when to empty it, but I’m not sure if it has an alarm or not since it’s never reached a full level (I check/empty frequently). I know it’s working well due to all the water it’s collecting! It’s good for large spaces- I definitely recommend this. ... show more

  • Solid choice
This is an effective dehumidifier. In fact, I was running it on continuous and forgot about it for a few hours, only to find it overflowing and a mess to clean up when I did check. I discovered in shipping, the float had been dislodged and didn’t shut off. So, when you remove the power cord from the reservoir upon receipt, check that the float in it is attached and moves freely. It runs quietly and while it doesn’t have a clear tank to see how full the reservoir is getting, it otherwise is a nice looking unit. It’s fairly heavy but moves easily on its wheels. I had a small pump, made for dehumidifiers, that fits easily in the reservoir and the power cord and drain line pass through the garden hose connection. With the output of this, you could capture the water for house plants or garden. I didn’t notice any damp odors after it ran. ... show more

  • Helps alot to cool things down Helps alot to cool things down
I bought this dehumidifier because I live in Florida and hot and humid season is fast approaching. Working remote from home I am here all day and the AC just runs non stop. With the dehumidifier I am able to run this and set my ac higher and still feel comfortable. This will save me money. The unit itself is pretty nice but is a little loud on high, so I leave it at the lower fan level. It has been doing a good job getting moisture out the air. The bucket is good size and holds about 2 gallons, and I just empty it once a day. Overall, I am very happy with the unit and the price. ... show more
