This system replaced our Xfinity home cameras. We chose this one for the higher resolution cameras, and also for the PTZ cameras, and based on good reviews here on Amazon. The video and audio quality is quite good. The PTZ cameras are convenient, although in retrospect we should have ordered the cameras that automatically follow motion. Hardware setup is about as easy as it could possibly be. My only complaint was that the PTZ camera covers two of the screw holes in the base, so it's impossible to drive those screws straight. In fairness this isn't unique to Hisee cameras, we see this design oversight way too often these days. The bullet cameras are only adjustable vertically, thus always point straight ahead, perpendicular to the mount. This turned out to be a problem (the old Xfinity cameras were adjustable on both axes). We had to devise a little 'wedge' for one camera to get the angle right. Again in retrospect, we should have ordered all PTZ cameras. The software that comes installed the recorder has too many features to count. Again, there's virtually nothing to set up once you've got the internet connection. We never did learn all of it. The interface could be better (said the software developer specializing in UI/UX), but if you think a feature should be there it probably is, somewhere. The iPhone app is a bit more refined. My only complaint about that app is that it takes a bit long to load the event thumbnails. However it HAS thumbnails, which the recorder app lacks. On the other hand, the recorder app supports filtering by camera, which the iPhone app doesn't (or we never found it). The showstopper for us was reception. As shown in the photo, we could not get one of the cameras to reliably talk to the receiver/recorder. Even adding the external antenna (a nice extra) didn't seem to make much difference. Neither did moving the receiver closer, or adjusting the receiver antennas. The dropouts occur sporadically -- most of the time the camera works fine. But of course Murphy's Law guarantees that when something important happens out on the driveway, that camera will be down. And while that's the only camera that actually cuts out occasionally, at least one of the others 'hiccups', seeming to pause for a several seconds, then rushing to catch up with the current time. The bottom line is there's a lot to like and when the system is 100% it's pretty great in terms of video and audio quality, features, and bang for the buck. Since we're passed the return window we'll probably order a different camera for the one that's flaky. Even then, assuming a new camera fixes it, the Hisee system will be a bargain. ... show more

The nvr started rebooting every 8 hrs or so within a week of starting to use the camera system. Every time there’s a loud beep heard throughout the house and the unit resets itself back to factory settings and has to be reset to the settings that work best for my situation. I tried calling the toll free assistance number on the unit but it has been disconnected. The last recourse is the email number on the unit. The answer to my problem was for me to disassemble the unit, remove the hard drive and test it, if it showed bad I should return it and then they would send me a new one for me to install myself, till then I’m out of luck. Terrible customer service and I know nothing about removing hard drives and they supplied no information on how to do so. I probably should have returned this unit ( 4 cameras and nvr ) the day I received it because it comes with a sticker on the nvr that says to test the unit before using in case of problems. I did that at great inconvenience and it seemed to work ok for about a week, then I installed it and then the problems started and it took another week to figure out what was wrong. I would not recommend anyone to buy this product that has no customer support to speak of and comes with its own warning sticker that the product has a high probability of not working right out of the box. ... show more

At the time I bought this system it was on special and came with 6 ( 2 statinary and 4 movable ) cameras . Most of the other systems I compared it to were costlier so I think I got a good deal . Love the fact that I can have 2 way communication thru 4 of the cameras ( in fact I bough 3 more cameras like this for a good price too ) and can move the cameras around . They also have led lights that can be set to turn on when there is movement ( and an alarm that goes on with movement , I chose not to use the alarm because some of the cameras face the street and would go on after each car that passes ) Lots of things to do with the app ( it takes a little using to , but not too complicated ) ... show more

Camera function ok more or less. However, if you intend to use it with the Hiseeu NVR, don't bother. None of the Hiseeu NVRs will provide a display output of more than 1920x1080 resolution according to their customer service, see the pictures of NVR display options and monitor display. So, since 1080p is only 2mp, why bother with anything more unless the 30x zoom function is what you are looking at? This company is fully aware that their products don't work as advertised, won't respond as to why they don't work as advertised and when confronted with the truth they try to redirect to another subject or make up a phony halfassed excuse. I was told that nothing more than 1080p was available because I was using VGA. The NVR doesn't even support VGA, see the attached picture....Steer clear of Hisseu and their shill company Aomeisi Security. ... show more
