  • Perfect fit and stayed on overnight!
Size: X-Large Color: Purple
My dog is 24 inches high at the hip and I ordered a an XL The sleeve fit perfectly on my standard poodle! She had leg surgery and her incision is about 5 inches long, plus she has a very long neck so I was worried she would reach it even with a cone. My vet was very excited to hear that I had purchased this! It was very easy to put on, she adjusted to it in less than a minute. It’s very comfortable for her, it’s soft and breathable. The rigidity in the reflective strip helps it stay in place over the entire upper leg and hip and not move around. It does not prevent her from going potty, and it would not interfere with a male dog either. She wore it all night next to me in bed and had no issues, she wiggles and rolls in her sleep and this sleeve did not move at all. She can jump in it (she’s not supposed to but she did a few times) no problem. The band at the lower leg is very stretchy but also soft and does not dig in at all, it was very easy to slip her paw through. I tied it to her collar and I left a little slack because it can pull when she turns. She’s a very young and flexible dog though, so ymmv. The photo I included was before I tightened the straps, it was just a fit check and I will add updated photos if possible. I am trying not to have her stand too much. ... show more

  • Waste of money
Size: X-Large Color: Teal Green
Hi This thing slips away every time, I tried to secure it by additional rope, not really helpful. Each time when my dog was changing the position I needed to correct this bandage. I ended up buying some sort of pajama on whole body and now I am free of worrying if my dog can reach the surgery area. Don't repeat my mistake , buy pijama ... show more

  • The straps don’t hold up so have a needle and thread on hand
Size: X-Large Color: Gray
What I like: It has a two-tiered approach to positioning over the wound (head to tail and around the rump) It’s machine-washable It has a reflective safety strip for walks What I don’t like: The straps that are supposed to hold this onto your dog only stay on the sleeve a week or so. The stitches or the fabric are too weak. And let me assure you I bought mine big so that wouldn’t be an issue of tightness. It is just poor quality. That said, because I can sew, I’ve resewn the straps twice in a month and only because of this it’s actually functioning well. My old dog has sebaceous cysts which leave open wounds on his body. I use menstrual pads to stick to the sleeve and absorb blood and pus from the cyst on his hip and it allows for ventilation and healing. I change the pads daily when cleaning the wound. Overall: I would recommend these if you can sew and if your dog has cysts. My dog wears a donut collar to prevent licking/chewing. Without a cone or collar, I would not recommend. The fabric is thin and easily moved aside. Don’t use this as your only defense against licking/chewing post-surgery. But if you’re trying to dry up cysts, this is a great option if you also use menstrual pads stuck to the inside because you get air movement but also protective coverage from dirt. Plus, no blood/pus on your floors/beds. Note: Sorry if this is graphic, but it’s real life with an elderly golden retriever (12.5 years, deaf, and blind in one eye) who is still enjoying life, so I’m not giving up yet. Hoping this will help others in the same boat. ... show more

  • Very disappointed with quality!
Size: X-Large Color: Gray
Sleeve looks great in a pic but horrible in quality. The sleeve is attractive but not practical. Excited when I received it but within hours the ! My dog chewed thru the flimsy straps that were suppose to secure the leg sleeve, within hours of being put on. I've suggested to the manufacturer they need a more stable and rugged strap attachment. I noticed another protective device that utilized a sturdier strap assembly using Velcro with an extended strap secured at the collar. You should be able to put the sleeve on and not have to monitor it 24/7, which I have. Sorry to burst everyone's bubble but we want our pets safe and somewhat worry free from such an item as this. ... show more

  • Worked great when secured with Ace bandages!
Size: X-Large Color: Gray
We bought this for our 70 lb lab mix after TPLO surgery. He was so anxious with the cone and would barely relax and sleep. This sleeve worked great and allowed us to not use the cone. Like other reviewers, however, we really struggled with the built in straps at first. They are awkward and don't really hold up the sleeve very well. Our dog was able to wiggle out of it the first night we used it. Then we read another review that suggested Ace bandages. That was a game changer! We cut off the original staps and safety pinned the bandage to the top part of the sleeve. We then wrap it around our dog's body multiple times, just in front of his hind legs, and safety pin the other end to a different part of the sleeve to keep it lifted up. It works great. He can easily use the bathroom with it on and it is easy to remove for washing. I'd give it 5 stars if it weren't for the built in straps that didn't work for us. ... show more

  • Worked great if you can be creative
Size: X-Large Color: Teal Green
Our golden had to have knee surgery and she's a licker. We bought this so we could get some sleep at night. The straps are terrible, they don't work as explained in the directions as they are not connected as the directions say....but refusing to give up, we created our own solution and tied them off in our own creative bowties, and this worked FANTASTIC. She didn't fight wearing it, she licked it a bit, but soon realized that she couldn't get to her wounds, so she gave up rather quickly. We could easily untie our bows, reapply medication and re-tie our bows so protect it. Washed and dried easily when it got gross (every 3 days), and got her through the ordeal. Would highly recommend this product, just ignore the directions on tying it off and use your own imagination to tie them around the belly and over the top and make an easy to release bow and all will be well. Your furr-baby won't notice and you will be assured he/she will heal up. ... show more
