We like these stools a lot, and we're actually larger people. they are comfortable for us, and our 11 yr old. They are sturdy and seem like they will last a long time. I didn't have any issues putting them together.

First, I did buy this bar height bench for a discount because it was a return. A sizable discount. But I saved no money, because I could have made back twice my savings by working instead of putting this thing together. It had no instructions with it. Never had happened before when I bought open box, but its a chance you take. The pieces were in white trash bags and zip lock baggie - obviously never repacked after return. But no biggie. I have put lots of furniture together. So the fun began…. I don’t think I put it together in the right order so there was some delay there, but the big problems were caused by the bolts that attach the legs having paint or something on them. I discovered the problem too late. I got one part way in, it would not go further, and when I tried to take it out to reset it, the threaded insert came out with it. I finally got it halfway in again, but as picture shows, partway is as far as its going. It doesn’t show on the outside so Im leaving it. Looked over the other bolts and cleaned up some, but the one pictured I could not clean up so I left it off. Oh, and I pity the person who tries to put this together using the tiny hex wrench provided. It would be torturous. So 1.5 hours later, I did finally have a sturdy stool that will serve the purpose. Never ever would I buy a set of these unless I had a full day or help putting them together. One about did me in.it is as comfortable as a backless cushionless seat can bet. The curve helps. If you choose to buy this, get out your screwdriver with a hex head and have paint remover handy to clean the bolts, and hopefully you will get instructions. ... show more

These are a nice solid stool for the price. They are the perfect height and look great in my kitchen. I selected these because they had a wider seat than others, but they are not the most comfortable. They do dig into the back of your legs a bit. You will need some major arm strength for the screws in the leg brackets because there is no hole in the leg itself. ... show more
