We purchased these for our second home. I was surprised by the quality considering the price was reasonable. They are made of wood and metal. No plastic pieces. We've only had them for about 2 weeks, but so far they look great and are comfortable. You do have to assemble, which is slightly complicated. We did have an issue with one of the screw hole not lining up, but we made it fit and we did get 1 incorrect screw. Even though we had a few issues, compared to some of the items I've purchased over the years on Amazon, these are much better quality then I expected.. I ordered two chairs. One of them has a few holes that were not fully drilled through. I had to use my own tool to fix that. Beyond that, I am happy with the chairs as the quality is good and very functional. The chair is not complicated to assemble as it is a relatively simple product. However, the instructions have room for improvement as they are essentially a set of diagrams with few explanations or helpful notes. The order in which the parts is assembled is also not optimal from the practical point of view. Every single stool I purchased (4), was missing washers. WASHERS!!!! Really people?? One missing washers? Ok. but every single one?!?! Come on people, washers can't be THAT expensive!!!!!!!!! Second, the black paint chips off if you look at it wrong. Third, you can only buy 4, the place wont let you buy more, why exactly is that? I had to get my neighbor to buy the other 2 I needed. Fourth, the stools are sturdy enough, although the back seems to move a bit more than it should it my opinion, if you lean back to readjust yourself. Fifth, they seem to be the right height for the average person, but shorter people will feel like a child at a counter height. ... show more

This is my Zoom class & meeting stool - It gets me high enough for the camera to register my whole face and is comfortable for those 2 & 3 hour meetings & classes. I ordered 4 of these for my kitchen bar and they look great. It took me awhile to assemble, but once I did the first one they were easy (make sure the seat ring has small holes up, I had to unscrew and flip the first one). The construction is sturdy, screws with lock nuts and washers go into the wood hole that is lined with a threaded insert. I know I won't have to worry about them falling apart. We ordered two of these chairs. After putting together the first one we realized that they would not work with our countertop - it is mostly the countertop's fault though. We ended up returning the second chair without even opening the box. These chairs took a while to assemble and you have to make sure you have the seat bottom turned the correct way, otherwise the screws which go into the pad will not reach. Otherwise, I absolutely love the look of the chairs. They are well made and look much more expensive than they cost.
