This is a great heavy duty latch that works well and secures the gate. We had bought a different “heavy duty” latch from a major home improvement store that is very similar looking to this one, but had a fatal design defect where the latch was not secure and the gate would open with the slightest movement or wind. This latch looks similar to the one purchased from the home improvement store but it works great. No design flaw. The latch actually works and secures the gate. It won’t open unless a person releases the latch. It’s heavy duty and works well with a large heavy wood gate. Would highly recommend.

Very well built, 1/8 thick metal (you will not find anywhere else, very strong assemble all around. Can be used as handle as well latching. I tried looking for vinyl gate hinges on their products page, but they do not manufacture hinges for vinyl gates, I wish this company would manufacture "vinyl gate hinges" along with their same 1/8 thick metal as the gate latch quality, you guys would defiantly lead the market on vinyl gate hinges if so!

Ordered this latch to replace an existing one Very happy with this latch the latch won't catch if the gate is closed with too much force / too fast The latch clasp does not fall into place quick enough I believe if the latch mechanism was a bit heavier, this latch would be THE BEST quality is very good - metal is not cheap - Only reason for 4 stars is because the gate needs to be closed slowly for it to catch

This thing is about 4 times larger than I expected - they have measurements but no sense of scale in the pictures. It won’t fit to replace the lock I’m getting rid of.
