Used this in order to do my first-ever gate replacement for our primary cedar gate that was WAY past its prime. Installation was quite easy following the basic instructions included and searching the internet for how I wanted things to look. I had no issues with things being bent or misaligned; the kit seemed solid from the get-go. I’m in the PNW, so was interested in seeing how things changed when rains set in and the gate takes on even more weight. The latch arrangement I replaced was probably a little too exact, so the gate settled just enough (talking a millimeter, maybe 2) to affect that, but the gate has stayed level and doesn’t open/close on its own (this was my preference). Overall, this kit accomplished my goal, looks good, seems like it will last a long time, and allows my gate to function as a gate. All of that and the price was far less than something that didn’t seem as hearty at the big box stores!

Thought I would give these a try having replaced several gates over the years. Typically used wood cross braces, which only lasts so long. Were easy to assemble the gates. Fairly strong with very limited flexibility. So far the gates are looking good and not sagging after several months.

This is a RIGHT side mounting hinge only!!! I have a left side mounting requirement. I tried for weeks to figure out how this works Right side mounting. I finally contact the seller in China and got different responses to the problem not even following the requirements of Pin top up, countersink slots outward to work, hinges able to face the correct direction?? I determined the hinges were welded on backwards for Left side mounting and not correctable?? The ad says nothing about this? So I received a email saying they do not have a Right side syatem yet?? So I am trying for a refund? But that seems to be an issue too since they are in China??

We bought two kits to replace a double gate on our property, which had been ripped apart in a storm. We're pretty DIY, but not the best carpenters. This system is so sturdy, so easy to use, that really, just basic saw skills and drilling was required. Pros: Easy to use, Heavy Duty metal Cons: Some manufacturing issues, Doesn't work for all types of gates To the complaints about warped metal or misshappen pieces- these pieces, like the 2x4s you have to buy with it, must be screwed into place carefully. What little warping we had was quickly fixed by screwing it securely to the wood (which we also chose carefully to avoid any warped planks). Need a functional gate that will last? This is your gate kit. Want a stylish "please break into our house" statment gate? Look elsewhere.
