First let me say that in my opinion these grip seats are NOT unsafe. You can post, dismount, reposition your seat, and still fall off while wearing it. The benefit i get from it is that it targets the correct muscles that I should be using while riding my barrel horse. It provides a good firm grip and helps you keep your butt in your saddle during a run. However, using it during your workout will help you get in shape. Update: had a "wreck" during a barrel run. Grip seat gave me just the right amount of time to decide if I could save it or bail. Chose to bail as I was too far gone. Was able to push myself away from my horse and land safely. I purchased this to help hold my 1.5 year old toddler on the saddle while I walk our horse around. It has plenty of room to grow with her for awhile if needed, and strong Velcro. She doesn’t seem to mind it around her legs, and I love not having to be the hovering mom worried sick she might loose her balance and fall off!
