Regardless of what some of the poor reviews said we found the experience of putting this together very pleasant. There were two of us putting it together and it took less than two hours and we took our time. Everything went together properly we had no problems with anything being ruined or damaged in delivery. We were here when our poor disabled UPS man arrived and helped him get it off the truck. It worked the first time we let it and I would recommend this firepit to anyone who is looking for something it looks very nice and expensive. as long as you read and follow the instructions you should have no problems putting this together!

Large fire pit table! Very nice and sturdy. Easy to light

A little hard to get to line up the top panels for the table. Takes about 2 hours to put together.You have to have 2people to help line up the holes sometimes. Be careful as the steel legs have one really sharp side. We bought some blue glass to add with the clear. The glass in this is huge. We bought a "Duck" cover to protect our investment. This is a beautiful large table pit. Just what I was looking for. Very easy to light. You have to buy a waterproof cover! It does have the center piece but that will not protect it enough. It comes with the clear fire glass .

Looks Nice, Could use improvement in assembly

This looks nice and was available at a much better price than I saw on other sites. I also made sure it came with free return shipping as a) I was afraid it might be too big for my space and b) other sites told me they weren't able to offer that due to manufacturer restrictions. When I opened it, it was immediately obvious I wasn't going to return it. There were far too many pieces to think I was ever going to repack this the right way to get everything back in the box. If it was too big, I was stuck with it. Luckily, that turned out not to be an issue. Assembly was the biggest issue. It went together easily, but not squarely. The pieces have elongated screw holes to provide slack or wiggle room. It's what manufacturers do when they're not able to be perfectly precise. In this case, it's too much slack. Things sloped about and it was near impossible to get things square. (I'm a cabnitry and furniture carpenter, so I have a good bit of experience getting things square and still couldn't manage it with this.) Overall, it makes assembly a bit more challenging than it needs to be. But it doesn't affect form or function much. It still looks nice and works fine.

This thing is just great. Saw it at a friend’s house, knew my parents would love it, bought one for them. I didn’t realize so much assembly was required, likely my fault for not reading more carefully. It made my mom’s day, and for that reason, I’m a little biased, but this fire pit is great! You can turn the flame up or down, it doesn’t extend much past the glass pit, so you can easily keep cold drinks on the surrounding platform if you wish. We’ve eaten dinner around it and it was perfect with the flame turned down. It’s simple to use, and lightweight enough that two people can comfortably move it. My parents are getting a lot of use from it, and apparently the neighbors all want one now. It did not come with a cover. I didn’t even think about it at the time, but my mom found & purchased the cover that’s made to fit it. I recommend buying the cover to protect your pit from the elements.

Don't expect it to be warm!

To answer the most common questions: Is it warm? No. Even with lava rocks, the radiant warmth does not extend even to the edge of the table. Tested in 58 degrees F on a clear, windless evening in southern California. Tested again at 63 degrees, no wind, on its high setting it is nice to scoot up close to the table and lean over it as you eat, without burning off your eyebrows. However, what this really needs is a second burner ring outside the first so you can crank it up for when you aren't dining and are instead leaning back in your chair. As it is, leaning back in the chair (scooted all the way up) you can't feel anything at all. Will the finish wear off? Probably. It even states on the front of the instruction manual that it is powder coated steel that is very susceptible to moisture and humidity. It recommends you rub car wax on it every few months. It took about an hour to assemble with no help, and had no alignment issues. Everything was in good shape, except that the steel legs were dirty and oily on the inside, and still smelled like a machine shop. It's not an issue, though, for an outdoor installation. The fasteners are poor quality. You know you've tightened them nearly enough when the hex head strips, but they get the job done. The wrench they supplied is pitiful, but what do you expect? It made it through maybe 10 fasteners before it stripped itself. Use your own. No, you can't use a ratchet or drill for most of this, due to clearance issues. The glass it came with is pretty rough stuff, varying in size from several inches, to dust. Do not open that box indoors or you'll have a mess to clean up, because it was not all contained in the bag and glass pieces will fall out the bottom of the box! The flame is centered in the pit, with the holes facing inward. It is very centralized and needs a second burner ring for higher settings. Overall, it is an aesthetically pleasing table with a flame in the middle, but do not get it for warmth. You'll burn a pound or more of propane per hour, but won't feel much of the heat. My recommendation is to get a nice table and a tabletop radiant heater.

I had a bit of trouble deciphering the instruction. Its hard to tell which end of the legs are the top or bottom. But once I got all the pieces identified and bolts and nuts spread out (30-45 minutes) it took about two hours to build. We love it. It puts out a lot of heat on high or just a nice glowing blue flame on low. With the flame on low, the top sides around the fire pit are wide enough to set your drinks along with fruit and cheese and crackers. With the cover on it makes a great patio table.

This Firepit is Not Worth The Money

Run don't walk from this firepit! The doors kept falling off, assembly requires small hands and the number of screws required does NOT match the instructions. Finally, the finished item is not very good looking. I wish Amazon would stop selling Chinese made items such as these firepit! I've received some Chinese made items in the past that were very well made; this firepit is an exceptions! You've been warned!
