The delays in shipping was frustrating, but once received, the bike was an immediate hit with the early teen. Initially the pedals and front brake pads were missing - and had to contact the CS - the responses from the CS were almost always within 12 hours or so, and the parts arrived as originally promised in the first CS email (need to come from China, expect delays in case you need replacement/missing parts). The bike is easy to assemble (video on the product page is helpful), and rides well, Gear shifting is not very smooth and the seat could be broader or more comfortable - but at this price point, this is a good value. Overall, for the intended use by an early teen - some trails, school camp commute, and general biking - this is a good value. ... show more

I got this as a replacement bike for my son. The seat is extremely uncomfortable, but that is probably the least of the issues. The instructions to assemble were for a different bike altogether. We figured it out after a bit. The tools it comes with should not be used, there are no handles, and they are sharp and cheaply made. One broke. The issue comes from the preassembled parts. The two nuts that hold the read tire in place were tightened so much they stripped and ruined all metal treading to the point that I would have to replace the entire rear assembly to get the tire off. The innertubes it comes with are probably the cheapest and the tires are paper thin (do not ride on sidewalks or asphalt in the summer). I now have a bike I cannot use because people at the assembly plant busted it. ****UPDATE**** I attempted to contact customer service at Highland. They suggested email times were roughly 24 hours. I am now past 48 hours and no contact. Will likely end up sending it back through Amazon. Now 2 weeks passed when I contacted Hiland for help - never a response. A complaint was filed against against them with Amazon. Run from this product. ... show more

Very nice, affordable, bike. (I checked prices at walmart for and this beat theirs by a lot.) The box was damaged, but the bike was well packed and received no damage. The quality is much nicer than I expected. The color is nicer in person. The name across the bike is 'BAMCBASE', Not Hiland, although Hiland is in the instruction book. It's fully adjustable in the seat and handle bar height. Assembly was easy enough. It rides smoothly, shifts alright, but a tough rough, so I'll have to adjust that... from YT videos I guess. Overall, I think it's a genuine value. With the 'coupon', I paid about $220 total. I would recommend it, and would buy it again. ... show more

Easy, straightforward assembly. Decent quality and everything fits together nicely. The gears shift smoothly and it has a good, balanced feel. If you’re looking for a low priced bike that’s of good quality, this is the one.

Never was able to get 3rd gear on front derailleur , there is zero excuse for this - they produce the bike...but send it out non functioning - do not buy this bike if you want the gears to work..it takes ninja death grip to even try to shift said non functioning gears

In addition to the seat being very uncomfortable (had to buy a new seat), the gears came messed up. I could only shift to 2-3 different gears. Had to take the bike in and pay for an adjustment due to a bent derailer arm. Not totally fixed, but I can shift through more gears.

The bike took a long time to arrive, but once it did, it was unusable after we put it together. The gear was either bent or improperly installed, resulting in it “catching” itself in the back wheel. The bike is therefore unusable and needs to be returned, which is a huge hassle due to its size. My wife also ordered the same bike, and the brakes snapped after 1 month of use.
