Clean the window and keep the window glass clean. Step 2. Wet the window or glass with water (soapy water is the best choice) Step 3. Remove the protective film from the backing. Step 4. For installation, apply to wet glass, smoothing with hands Step 5. Use a squeegee to remove air bubbles and excess moisture. Practical Tip: Before applying, remember to peel off the protective film and spray it with plenty of water. Use a spray bottle to spray more water on the glass and the surface of the film, the more water the better, and then use a squeegee to scrape out all the air bubbles. Cut the protective film to 2 mm from the window frame, pick up a corner at the edge, re-spray the film with water and scrape off the bubbles. Excellent Privacy and Sun Protection - Easy to Apply! I’m very impressed with the HIDBEA One Way Window Film. It provides exactly the privacy I needed during the day while still allowing me to enjoy the natural light. The reflective surface does a great job of blocking out the view from the outside, giving me peace of mind without having to use heavy curtains or blinds. The sun-blocking feature is also fantastic.     • Perfect for Letting Light in but Not Nosey Neighbors

Update since I wrote this review: I have had these up for several months now, no issues what so ever. I live in Houston where our windows sometimes sweat, I've had no issues with this film staying on. I can leave my blinds open all day and when I go to bed I just close them. No one can see in but I close them in case someone gets right up to the window and peeks into a crack where I might not have cut the size perfectly. I know a few others have said theirs hasn't stayed on the window. I did clean my windows pretty hastily, but did clean them before putting my film up. Hope this helps. First Review: I just put this up today in one of my windows. I have no idea if it will stay put so check other reviews for that. What I know - it is absolutely what I wanted. It lets so much light in but doesn't show in or out. If I was close to the window, it might show an image but I'd have to be really close. It's plain, mostly opaque, and went up easily. Here are my tips: I didn't have everything to complete the job so I used my pancake spatula instead of a squeegee, I didn't have a box cutter so I made a template ahead of time and used that to trace and cut the exact size I needed. I didn't have a spray bottle so I had a small bottle from Bath and Body Works w a small amount of fragrance left - poured that elsewhere and used that small spray bottle. So, the biggest challenge I had was trying to pull the backing off, it took me a long time with each. When I do the other window, I will peel, then use my template, and I will make sure to leave something small between the backing and the window film (a sticky?) so I don't take five minutes each time trying to separate the back from the film. Hope this helps. I love open windows - live in a downstairs apartment, I will be able to raise the blinds all the way up and no one will be able to see in but I'll have the light! ... show more

The film is thicker than other window film I've purchased which to me represents a higher quality product. The film does cut down the visibility slightly but that's entirely okay in my case. There used to be a reflection off the neighbor's house which reflected an annoying glare where I sat down on my chair in my house. The glare is gone. It's impossible to see into my house from the outside now during the daylight hours which is also a plus. Finally, it's not so hot in the room where the windows face west which was the primary reason for the purchase. ... show more

Just follow the directions. I trim before I apply. I have a large table, a large quilters ruler and cutting mat and rotary cutter. Use tape to separate the liner. Wash your window. Wash it again. Probably wash it a 3rd time. Wait a day and wash it a 4th time. 🤪 Mostly kidding but seriously it's not rocket science. Clean window thoroughly! Prepare for a mess. Have plentiful towels on hand and the squeegee. If you are applying a large piece it really helps to have a second set of hands. But it can be done with painters tape As that second hand. Use the sprayer with a few drops of dish soap in it. SPRAY THE WINDOW LIBERALLY WITH WATER. The more water the better. Allllll the soapy water. Then apply and squeegee the living daylights outta it working from the center out. You can do it. It's very satisfying. ... show more
