  • Good Personal Item Air Travel Bag
Color: Black
Looks great and seems like good build quality for the money. It’s definitely small, but if you bought it to be a personal item bag for air travel (like I did), you’ll be happy.

  • Good, but could have been much better.
Color: Black
I've kind of developed a love/hate relationship with this bag. My previous gear bag was a backpack by 'Ogi(o)', but it got into an accident by no fault of its own (driver accidentally ran over it at a gig, lol.) It had done its service and held up well, and I had been on the hunt for a solid replacement. And, while I certainly don't abuse my stuff, whatever it was going to be needs to be able to handle getting knocked around, and having solid, heavy objects inside. To that regard, I think this bag is a winner. It seems well-constructed, and I have no complaints so far. And, I was pleasantly surprised at how I actually like opening it horizontally. The amount of opening can be somewhat adjusted with velcro attachment spots that will keep it opening more like a regular bag, but honestly I knew that wouldn't last, so I immediately just detached the velcro. But... the storage space is actually lacking. To me, the front pockets are almost useless. You really can't fit much in there. If they would have given them like 1/2" more depth, it would have been totally different and very helpful. Or, like another reviewer said, they could have made two larger pockets. As it is, seriously, they just don't provide adequate space, to me. If you look in my pic, a lot of that stuff I had previously been able to organize better, and put into different areas of a bag. Like, there are a couple of bandanas, and I can't even squeeze them in anywhere else. As for the wheels and handles, they work just fine. But, again back to the storage, I hardly even see them as necessary. It's just really not that big, and doesn't hold enough, so I hardly see where it would ever really *need* wheels for the average user. I'm not complaining about them being there, not at all, but I just can hardly ever see needing them, because you almost can't put enough normal stuff in this thing to make it very heavy. I do disagree with another reviewer about using it on your back. I like how this bag is stiffer and kind of stays close. In the interim, I had been using an old Jans(port), and while it actually provided *much* more storage and better organizational options, it also carried all of the weight at the bottom, pulled away from you, and basically felt like you had a sack of potatoes on your back trying to escape.. Just as an fyi, if you look at this company's seller page, they have another bag that appears to be very similar, and has more reviews already built up. Some of them echo some of my sentiments. Anyway... Would I recommend this? Yea, probably, as long as you clearly understand that you're mostly getting a suitcase style compartment on wheels. To me, it's mostly 'tactical' because of how it looks, not because of how it functions. Would I personally get it again? Prob not. I feel like for the same price I could prob find something with better storage options. ... show more

  • Fits my gear comfortably and transports easily.
Color: Black
This is a decently sturdy backpack. The fabric is tough. The thread used in all of the stitching is equally tough. The stitching is even and well-finished, with double-stitches used in the areas subject to the greatest strain, such as the top handle. I do wish that handle had a bit more body, for gripping, but it does have many stacked layers and rounded edges to make it strong and comfortable. The wheels are fantastic. Solid rubber (polyurethane?) tires are held on plastic (but very strong) rims, with steel ball bearings at the hub riding on steel axles. They roll smoothly, even under a heavy load. The extension handle is better quality than many I've seen, but it will still bend if mishandled. The zippers are fairly heavy duty. I have subjected them to some pretty severe testing, pulling hard and fast, opening and closing aggressively, many times. Pulling at an angle or trying to close the zipper of an overloaded compartment. So far, I've never had a zipper stick or catch on anything. I'm glad the zippers are good, because there are a lot of zipped compartments on this bag. The holding capacity of the bag is as advertised. The main section opens flat (for TSA, etc.). The inside back of that section also features a zipper that allows complete access to the extension handle. The backpack straps are nicer than I expected. They are decently padded and wider than the straps on many other backpacks. I still don't find the backpack mode very comfortable, but it can work in a pinch. I would definitely not use this backpack for hiking or camping, I don't know what the product listing means by "military" use, but nothing I can think of along those lines seems like a good use case for this bag. I think it would work great in a university setting, or in certain work environments, or as an overnight bag. I am using mine to carry a laptop, books, and a portable soldering station, along with Arduino boards and sensors, a power supply and a small oscilloscope, as well as a couple of small power tools. ... show more

  • A very versatile small full featured carry on.
Color: Black
This IS a smaller carry-on type of bag but doesn't skimp on the "features"! I wouldn't use this as my ONLY bag for a vacation using a plane as it IS quite "small" for that purpose IMO, but certainly adequate for a quick trip, but it really shines as a carry-on for your "cabin needs" while protecting those things very well and still has the wheels and extending handle that are tucked away if needed! (VERY versatile!). It is seriously well built in my opinion as the zippers are heavy duty, and it has well stitched Molle attachment points everywhere. It has space for a 17" laptop, though I only have a 15" one it fits great and is "protected well" IMO. It can be used in a "backpack" form if needed and mine came in black...which is...well black! Ha! I would definitely use this for traveling if I was making a day trip or was checking bags for longer vacations/travel, but it is a little small for a "one bag" travel situation. This is mainly a "valuables" type of carry-on IMO, and it functions amazingly well in that way IMO. I don't travel too much right now, so I use this to keep some of my "important" things in ONE PLACE, so I know where they are when I need them. It is small enough that you can keep in "out" in a room and not stuffed in a closet or in an attic waiting for a vacation or something so that is nice! It makes an excellent "go bag" for emergencies IMO that you can fit that kind of stuff in it and still be extremely portable so it can be used for so much more than on a plane if you think about it in that way rather than just a "carry-on"! ... show more
