Doing construction, repairs and maintenance for a large county, I am constantly marking things. I like pencils for the simple reason of cleanup and ease. Regular pencils keep me sharpening every ten minutes but these pens are just a click away from being usable again. These are ok but the lead is way too soft for me if you sharpen tip to a point after marking one line the tip is rounded off the colored lead or whatever it is does not mark on wood I wanted the yellow for marking on dark wood but it does not work at all.

I was looking for a solution that would help line up/mark pre drilled holes on other surfaces. Also on metal and black veneers. These have worked great when a carpenter pencil would just get in the way. I didn't initially realize there's a built in lead sharpener so that was a bonus

Seem like a good deal with red, yellow and black refills. You have to unscrew the cap on top (not pull it out) to get to the sharpener.
