My kids love these clicker pencils for school. These are nice bold colors and come in a large set for a good price. The lead is medium soft, but does catch a little on paper. They don't smear like regular pencils of this thickness and that may be why they catch a little when writing. In the hand, they are very light and requires more pressure to use. They are easy to use and refill by removing the eraser. These last a good while before needing more lead, but they aren't so expensive that you are sad to loose them at school. ... show more

As far as durability, the pencils themselves are pretty sturdy, but the leads are pretty thin, so be careful when pressing hard.
