I absolutely love this knife! So much so, that I also bought the bread knife. The handle feels good in my hand and the blade is super sharp. The only problem I have is that these old arthritic hands get tired and hurt after using my utility knife for a while. And this is heartbreaking for me when I am doing a lot of cutting during canning season. I do not have need of a huge set of knives when I only use a few of them regularly. I highly recommend this brand to anyone who is looking for a good quality knife for the kitchen. Now, I am off to see if I can find the only other one I really need and that is a paring knife. Nicer than Shun, nice handle but has a couple bumps that should have been sanded on the wood knots. I bought this more for a steak knife and it has been fantastic so far. I'll have to reserve perfection until I see how well it holds an edge, hones and sharpens. Really great knife for the money. This would be a great set also, just be careful with V10 blade edges, they chip really easily.

Made in China. Damascus Steel knife made in China. Quality was less than stellar. It felt cheep in your have. The price should have been half for this quality. I never used. Just returned.

This knife is actually pretty nice. Very sharp out of the box. At this price I'd start to expect attention to detail and craftsmanship. This one delivers. The transition from wood to steel is very smooth, no rough edges or gaps. Size is nicely balanced. Fairly thin blade cuts well and functional for most prep work. Handle was moderately figured wood, but still nice. In all, money well spent.

I totally love this knife. It is well made damascus blade and is super sharp. I maintain the edge with a couple of swipes over a ceramic "steel". The handle is beautiful and feels really good and secure in your hand; even when wet. I would purchase the entire set if I needed them.
