  • First ebike
Color: Blue Style: Standard
I'll start off with the cons. The tires are cheap but acceptable for the price, and the speedometer came loose without the necessary tools to tighten it, the box was also a bit beat up. However, it flies up hills and does about 25mph with pedaling, so you could easily get it to go 28mph like it says, I'm about 135 pounds so it takes mere seconds to reach 20mph, it's not overwhelming but it takes you for surprise, definitely recommend getting something like this before you get something crazy that can go 40mph. Also another con, it has that delay before the motor kicks on some picky riders talk about but for the price it's still acceptable, you get what you pay for. Haven't tested the range yet, I may update this review but I might also forget about it, but it's a good bike, easy to assemble. ... show more

  • Convenient to use
After 2 months of usage, I can vouche that it is the best bike at this price point. Everything works well. The speed of the bike is also great and it reaches up to 24m/hr. I just had an issue with flat tyre, but the support team is very helpful and they got the price covered for the repair. Highly recommend to buy this bike. ... show more

  • Good for Price, but Expect Replacements!
Color: Blue Style: Standard
I've put over 2000kms on my e-bike so far with it being my main form of transportation for the last 4 months. First off, it is really fun to ride and very user friendly! It also looks great and I get a lot of compliments on my bike! I really prefer that this actually looks like a bike, unlike those weird fat ones that are basically glorified mopeds. However! It is clear that you're mainly just paying for the battery and motor. I got a flat in both tires on my second ride and tires started balding in less than a month. The seat is a literal pain in the ass. The pedals snapped about 2 months in and I've already had to replace the brake pads. Bottom line is that you will have to invest in this bike and spend more money to fix it up with higher quality parts. BUT it is well worth the time, money, and pain! I really enjoy riding it and so far the frame, motor, and battery have all held up well! What's especially nice is that I can go about a full week without even having to charge the battery! I very much recommend this bike, just be ready to learn about bike repair! ... show more

  • Easy to assemble solid bike
Color: Blue Style: Standard
I was looking for an eBike, and looking for one that looks like a bike, affordable, and gives me a good range. The Heybike Race Max seems to have it all. I bought it to deliver before Christmas, but it delivered a few days after. I don't blame them due to the storm and also busy holiday schedule, although I did pay about $70 for the delivery. When I opened the package, everything is packaged very well. The only a handful of things to install: 1. the front wheel, the seat, the handle bars, and the pedals. It is very similar to a regular bike. one thing that stood out is there aren't many wires sticking out. many of the wire that drives the bike are hidden within the frames. That is pretty impressive. Another thing is the bike is quite heavy. It would be difficult to carry it up stairs or try to hang it on bike hangers. It feels like 50 lbs. Assembly was straight forward, but I did struggled with the front wheel until I realized the needed part was in a sealed box. The instructions seems to miss the front wheel assembly. Other than that, everything was just common sense. After I got everything assembled, I proceed to adjusted the breaks so the disc wont' be rubbing on the breaks. I read Amazon reviews that this is almost an impossible task to keep the break disc from rubbing on the breaks. I hate the noise when the breaks rubs, it really drive me insane. To my surprise, it took me just about 2 minutes for each wheel to get them spinning freely without rubbing on the breaks. I tested the breaks and found they do have good stopping power, but unlike my other high end regular bikes, the breaks doesn't stop on a dime, and worst of all, makes sound when you break. When I turn on the main switch on the bike, the headlights came on, but the bike is still off with display darkened. It took me 10 minutes to realized that you have to hold press the middle display button to enable it. So you have to turn on the power, then turn on the bike. That was not obvious. To be fair, that was in the instructions, but I figured it out before going through the instructions. I tested the bike riding it for a few blocks. The bike has good power. Setting on 1, will give you a boost or assist while you peddle, it feels like riding a regular bike, you can still put up a sweat. Setting 2 will give you more power and without peddling. Setting 3 will accelerate real fast and move up any hill like it isn't there. I still haven't test the range of the bike, but I am not a full time reviewer, I will just ride it to work back and forth and update this review later. I do agree with others who purchased the bike the seat is oddly uncomfortable and not suitable for long rides. That isn't a problem for me, I can just change it out. All and all, not the perfect bike. It is heavy, uncomfortable seat, and breaks aren't as responsive and makes noise. There are much benefit to this bike: It is very affordable; it doesn't have wires hanging all over place. It works out of the box, It looks nice, and it is easy to assemble. I will give it a 5 stars for now. ... show more

  • Well made with decent quality parts
Color: Blue Style: Standard
I bought 2 Race Max 27,5 for city use for my wife and I at $439 each on Amazon. Considering the 48v motor and 600 watts battery I figured there was not much money left for cycling components. I must say that the whole bike is a very decent proposal. Nothing feels cheap, the bike is well constructed, decently light at 46 pounds without the battery, goes a fast 26 mph and to top it all off looks great. On the down side, it has only 7 gears, brakes are not powerful. This bike comes programmed with 3 pas levels with level 1 giving a too fast speed of about 10 mph. You can reprogramme it to 5 levels but level one is still 10 mph, the following levels being spread mostly equally until you reach top speed. I contacted support in hope that it can be reprogrammed like more expensive Heybikes, they replied immediately saying teck support will contact me. All that being said, we love our Heybikes! Update: speed cannot be adjusted on separate pas levels, only to speed can be lowered. ... show more
