  • Not function well
I just received this chair and quickly assembled it. It is so disappointed that the seat can't be adjusted, even though there are two handles with symbols showing function of backward and forward tilt.

  • Truly One of the BEST Upper End Chairs on the Market
This is my second Hermann Miller Aeron chair and it is an upgrade from the last. My last one was a gift and it was a size B. I am 6'3 and 195, so when I bought this chair I went for the size C as it lets me sit a bit higher, and with my feet planted on the ground and knees at 90 degrees (good posture), there is still another inch I can go up. When it came, there were only three things I had to do to "put it together." Attach the back - takes 1 minute. Attach the lumbar 'Posturefit' device - takes at most 10 minutes if you have tools at hand. Attach the wheels. Oops, there were no wheels. The first number for support goes to Hermann Miller, and this chair was sold from another party through Amazon. HM suggested I call Amazon and I did. The young man on the phone was obviously from India/Pakistan etc., but was very, very helpful. He understood the issue immediately and came up with a great solve. I got a bit of a discount on the chair that would more than cover buying wheels. I had wanted to try the roller blade wheels anyway so I purchased them for right at $40 after tax and they were delivered 4 hours later. It takes less than a minute to put them on. The chair is a delight! Very adjustable (Go online and watch a couple of the "How To Adjust" videos and you will be a pro in a few minutes. If you are trying to choose between cheaper chairs and Hermann Miller, understand that my last Aeron lasted 18 years! It was still usable after that time, I just did not want to refurb it. • Once you get the chair adjusted you'll love it!
Before writing this review I will say that I'm biased to the Aeron chair specifically due to the marketing that Herman Miller has put into it - I want the same chair as House uses. That being said, I finally ponied up and paid the price for it, and I couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend visiting a local retailer and testing the chair out prior to purchasing, and if you're on the fence about which size to get, go larger. I am 6' and weigh 175lbs and purchased a size C and it feels right. The basic model sadly is probably not worth getting, as you'll find pretty quick that you'll want to be adjusting depending on your task (specifically arm rest and forward tilt) which you just can't do without the fully loaded. I did purchase the model with hard floor casters as my chair was going in my home office with hardwood and obviously didn't want to damage the floors. Now, the bad. This posture-fit system absurdity is the most ridiculously after-thought idea that Herman Miller has had, and I'm honestly surprised that they're even selling it without being pre-installed. I will say it's VERY nice once you get it installed, but the fact that you have to use a pencil (really, the instructions say use a pencil) to stretch the mesh on the back to install the cable through (which doesn't work very well btw, I'm a fairly mechanically competent person and this f'ing thing took me almost an hour of getting frustrated with it before the cable would properly go through) is absolutely ridiculous, and needs a better design. The simple solution would be to design the mesh back with a very small grommet for the cable to go through and if you use it, fine - if not, you'd never notice it. Other than the posture-fit, the entire chair assembly took all of 5 minutes, just involved putting 4 bolts (not screws, huge, solid, bolts) into the chair back and taking off all of the plastic. All in all, using a Steelcase Leap at the office and now having an Aeron at my home, I don't like going into the office as much as I do working from home. I am now a bandwagoner and wouldn't give up my Aeron chair. ... show more

  • Nice Chair
We have these scattered around my office, and to be honest I didn't even realize when I made this purchase (for home use). I was wondering about ordering the 'C' size (which I did) and I'm glad this was my choice. I'm 6'4" and 190 lbs, my wife is 5'4" and 120 lbs and we both like the 'C' size. The width is probably more than my wife would like, but in terms of having a chair that is usable by the most number of people, the 'C' fits the bill. ... show more
