• HOW PRONG-COLLAR SIZING WORKS Unlike a buckle collar, a prong collar is a fixed-link chain that you size by adding or removing individual prong links until it fits snug and high on your dog's neck, right behind the ears. The collar should sit with about 2 inches of fitting allowance tight enough that it cannot slip over the head. This Small collar ships with the base 16-inch configuration and accepts additional prong links (sold separately) to reach up to 19 inches.

How to choose the right size Prong collars are adjustable chains made up of individual prong links. You resize the collar to your dog's neck by adding or removing links — not by buckling. The size chart shows the full neck range each variant can cover across its base and extended configurations. For this listing (Small, 2.25mm × 16 inch base length): Fits dogs with a neck circumference of 13 to 19 inches Suitable for dogs up to approximately 40 lbs Ships in the 16-inch base configuration — fits necks of roughly 13 inches out of the box For necks larger than ~14 inches, additional prong links are required (sold separately — see our store for the matching 2.25mm prong links) How to measure your dog's neck Wrap a soft measuring tape fully around your dog's neck at the point where the collar will sit — high up, right behind the ears and under the jawline. Take the full circumference. Use this number to find your size in the chart above. If your dog's neck is larger than 19 inches, this Small size is not the right fit — please select a larger variant (the Medium, Large, and X-Large sizes cover necks up to 25, 26, and 31 inches respectively, with their own extension ranges).
