Surprised at the ease of setup and the decent sound. Now you're not going to get component sound with great bass but for average volume they are decent. I put the first set I ordered in a shed at the end of a carport for our winter home. They work great for just average listening. I use a plug/switch to plug them into the line voltage & makes it easy to turn them off when not needed. They have always connected to my phone without problem. Used them in my shower the last year and they’re awesome! They don’t have much base but that’s to be expected from the price and the size. They get really loud indoors, I have never tried them outside but I bet they’d be pretty loud, especially considering their size. I ordered my current Herdio 601s through Amazon, in 2024. They replaced ones ordered in 2023 that went dead in only one year. It was the 3rd Herdio set due to failure of 501s occurring twice. The 1st failure was total silence, the 2nd failure was one speaker stopped working. Now, these 601s are acting up after only a season and a half of pool/backyard activity. I sent email to Herdio customer service and got NO RESPONSE at all after almost 2 weeks. DONE with this brand. I'll take blame for trusting them to support their product. ... show more

So far so good! I immediately hooked these up when I opened the box to see if they would be worth mounting outside. Setup to Bluetooth was super easy and quick. Sound was great and loud. Mounted outside and spaced the speakers the length of the speaker wire apart. Played different genres of music at different levels and it all sounded great. I’m on 1/2 an acre and two of these speakers can be heard across my property as long as I’m in the direction of the speakers. Easy mounting but wish the power plug for the speakers was at a 90. Power cord is also a bit short so keep that in mind for your project. I also tried them after a rainstorm and they functioned just the same. ... show more

Not clear info on product - I wanted these to mount on a back porch ceiling. In order to use each time you have to unplug it and plug back in to activate Bluetooth mode. Well - that’s not safe or convenient. I called customer service and they said they have told the company about the problem and asked for a remote control.
