  • Well Designed & Worth It

  • They're the Best
Color: FJ Red
Has a cheaper brand and they just didn't hold up so I went with these guys. Of course I haven't gotten stuck since I got them LOL ! That said you can tell the difference right away, heavier, sturdier and just a high quality piece of gear. If I get to use them I'll write another review.

  • They work as advertised
Color: Black
After a major snow dump in December ‘21, local streets were barely passable, down to a single open lane with ice covered by snow. Neighbor’s 4WD heavy duty pickup truck (with full size chains on the rear tires)got stuck less than a few hundred yards away from his and our house - where the street slopes upwards toward a T intersection. Truck wouldn’t go forward or backward and would only slide sideways into snowbank upon application of throttle. We walked over to the stuck truck with a pair of our visiting daughter’s Maxtrax Mark II mats in hand, and after a little work positioning the mats under the rear wheels our neighbor was able to move uphill and get out of the jam in less than five minutes. With that demonstration, we ordered another pair for ourselves. They really do work, are worth the price, costing way less than the cost of a single tow and a couple hours wait time when everyone else is stuck too. ... show more

  • Great product, especially in winter!
Color: Safety Orange
Used the smaller version of these for years with my previous vehicle in the mountains (and to help various people in town who would get stuck in the snow). Upgrading to this larger pair now that I have a 4Runner - it's the identical product just a bigger version of it made for bigger vehicles. With the first big snow of the year having just hit the mountains I expect these to see action soon. Adds great peace of mind knowing that I have a proven effective way of getting unstuck if I run into trouble. ... show more

  • Could not Beleive How Soon Needed and How Well Worked on Rear Wheel Drive 15 Passanger Van
Color: Lime Green
I drive a rear-wheel drive 15 passenger van for a hot air balloon crew chase vehicle pulling a small trailer. On rare occasions the van gets stuck mostly on gravel or unmaintained roads after it rains. I purchased two sets of the Maxtraxs just days ago. Last night the van got stuck in deep powdery sand in a field. This was not the a wet muddy gravel road slipping tire situation I intended for the Maxtraxs. This was deep to the hub, off road real world stuck in the sand just like in the videos situation. Two sets of Maxtraxs, a decent shovel, 15 minutes and three attempts the van was unstuck and we were on our way again. I never expected to really need the Maztraxs. There is usually another vehicle around to pull the van far enough along a road to get traction again. I purchased as a backup just in case there was no other vehicle around. In this situation, short of a tractor the van wasn't going to be easily pulled out by another chase tuck or van. I see why these are so highly recommended recommended. These are very sturdy and yet flexible enough to handle the weight of the van in uneven ground. The cost stings. Is Maxtrax worth it? I knew nothing of recovery and extraction tracts a week ago so I could not say what is great, good enough or not good when I purchased the Maxtraxs. I could only judge based on reviews and videos that the Maxtraxs are the choice if money was not consideration and serious use was intended. I could not afford to try something just to have the product break and fail while customers were looking over the shoulder. Not in my business. I paid the extra cost because I figured either these will work or not. At no time did it appear as if using these tracts working was going to be a wing and a prayer. ... show more
