Ever since my now 87yo mom had hip replacement surgery in 2011 and rotator cuff surgery in 2018 (opposite side from hip replacement), she's been having issues getting out of her twin bed:and she's a fit woman. So thankfully I found this and it's been a game changer for mom! It's pretty easy to put together, took me about 10 minutes which includes taking everything out of the box. Instructions are good and they give you extra tools/clips which was a bonus. I just put the security strap on it, after she's had it installed for a couple of weeks to make sure it's in the right place, so it holds more securely but it doesn't seem to hold it in place as tightly as I thought it would. That took a little longer cuz you have to put the strap between the mattress & box spring and then loop it under the bedframe til you bring it back up and clip it into the strap. We wish the bag was in any color except black as it's difficult to see what's in there when the room is dark or she can't find her flashlight (which is grey) and she wants it in the bag instead of her nightstand. Above all else, it makes mom feel better having it and that's what matters! Definitely recommend this one! ... show more

It took a couple of tries to figure out where on the bed to insert this because it's an electric bed. The lower part of the middle section worked the best. It helps a person pull themselves up when they are in bed and helps stability if they are next to the bed. If a sling and Hoyer lift is used careful placement is required such that when the bed is not flat there is a place to get the Hoyer sling underneath. I do recommend this for people who have problems sitting up in bed or need something to hold onto when next to a bed. ... show more

We have a King bed and needed beds more for assisting or pulling up out of bed than protection from falling. This bedside slides well and deep under the mattress and does the job. It moves a bit after several uses but not enough to be ineffective. We found it safe and utilitarian. It actually has a small cloth pouch where you can insert a remote, eye glasses, kleenex or any smaller article. There is a R or L assist handle which is a nice option.
