I had to size up twice because I have D boobs and this jacket runs tight in the chest. Normally wear a medium or large....sized to an xl and that fit my chest perfectly. This is a high quality jacket perfect for sailing or the fall time. Love the fleece around the neck. I'll be wearing this often!

I have been trying jackets in preparation for a trip to Europe this coming fall. I had never heard of the Helly-Hansen brand and after reading about them I was excited to try them. Upon receipt I could tell that it is a high-quality jacket. Unfortunately for me it is also a lot heavier than I want to drag around for two weeks. It also is not a flattering jacket on me. I have a small waist but larger hips and the length of this jacket made it snug on my hips and it would bunch up when I sat. A two-way zipper would have done a lot to solve the fit issue for me, and I may have even kept it for use at home, but I decided to return and continue the search. ... show more

Bought a small based on reviews to size up, but it was just huge on me. I'm 5'4", 120 pounds. The xsmall is perfect, and there's still room to fit a sweater or vest underneath (not that I would). For me, this is meant to be a spring/fall rain coat with a bit of style (i'm tired of the same old look that everyone has from Columbia, Patagonia or NF). If I can wear it sailing, that's a plus. The fleece around the neck is nice and warm without being overkill and so are the fleece lined pockets for my hands. Note that the neck is intentionally high to keep you warm in high-winds, and the hood is cinchable on each side so you can fit it to your face. The hood doesn't have a visor feature (stiff fabric at the edge), but I prefer not having. I think the look is cooler with the hood rolled up, but love that it pops out in a second and can be put back in a just few more! ... show more

I had a Henley-Hansen in white but wanted another darker color for a trip to New Zealand. I love the white one but it was a little snug. I had bought it in a medium because that’s what I normally wear so I decided to go for a large in the new one and it’s perfect. ( I’m 5’3” and weigh 135.) i got it in navy with red zipper tassels. Absolutely love this jacket. Bought it for my trip to Europe. I read the reviews and bought a size larger. I am usually a small so bought a medium. Coat is very fashionable, zippered pockets work wonderfully. I keep my phone in my right pocket, my glasses in the upper left and a small purse in the inside pocket. In Paris it was warm, so I just wore it over my shirt. In Ireland it was colder and I wore an extra fleece and it was perfect! Best jacket ever, very happy! ... show more

I luv Helly Hansen! This jacket is spectacular ! Just a comment about the sizing choice on this one. I am medium build, 5'5" 135 lbs, I usually take Medium in jackets. I read the reviews and ordered XL !! as I wanted room to wear a puffer vest or fleece underneath. It was the right decision; there is still a comfortable amount of room while wearing a puffer vest underneath. Just don't expect to look like Twiggy! ... show more
