Best raincoat I've ever purchased

I am 5'7" and can't stand raincoats/slickers that come to my waist/hips -- because if I wear a slightly longer shirt or cardigan, they get soaking wet. This is not only a stylish coat, but it is just the right length and weight. Not just that, I often need to work outside (we own a winery) in the POURING rain and it keeps me completely dry. I have purchased many raincoats over the years and this is the only one that does the trick. It is a bit warm in the summer, but I will suffer to stay dry. Awesome coat!
This is a great coat. It is fun, bright and sporty. I have been looking for a completely waterproof coat for a long time-and I love this. I am 5'3, and I worried that it would be too long, or that the nice "shaped" fit would be wrong on someone my height. But it's perfect. It's very flattering, and comes to just above my knees, which is great for rain protection- my pants stay nice and dry! I am about 155 lbs and take a size 8-10, so I got the large. My mid-section is where I carry my weight, and I feared the coat would be fine in the shoulders, but too snug around the waist, as "athletic" type coats often are. Not to worry-it fit beautifully. I can wear a hoody underneath, but it's comfortable with just a t-shirt, too. The pockets are lined with a soft jersey material, and the same material is on the collar, which feels really nice when it's clammy and raining. The zippers on the pockets and the coat itself are plastic, but they are heavy and strong, and zip very smoothly. The hood is a little big and cumbersome, but is fine if you zip the coat up to the top-I think it is designed to be worn that way. I wore this coat last week to my dog training class-there was a woman there who works with rescue dogs, and coincidentally she had the EXACT same coat-same colour and everything (I got the grey and pink). She said she has had hers for a year and wears it all the time walking the dogs. She said it has never leaked, and I can attest that it looked JUST like mine, as in, brand new and not worn at all! I'm seriously thinking about the lined version for colder temps! ... show more

This Helly Hansen Coat is FANTASTIC!

I love the length, the great zipper, and the tailored look of this windproof rain proof beautiful coat! It has all of the attributes I wanted and is also very attractive. The only thing to be aware of is that it does run small so if you wear a medium, get a large, etc. Someone else had also commented about this as well. ... show more

Why did I need a secret code to receive this coat?

I love Helly Hansen coats. They wear well for many years. My previous purchase has lasted me for 11 years. This design was the closest I could get to replace my well loved/well worn coat but it is missing the nice kangaroo-type pockets and the snap flap that covers the zipper. The length gives good coverage and it is light weight which are a plus. I don't care for the screaming white zipper on a navy blue coat. After ordering I was sent a message that I MUST be home to receive my coat and was given a code for the driver. I found this to be an inconvenience for an item that I would not consider to be a high theft item given the package was extremely light-weight and no larger than a package of bed sheets. Even the delivery driver questioned the need for such security. To top it off they changed my time of delivery twice within 24/36 hour period. It would have been less time consuming and more convenient to go out and shop at a store. ... show more

Great Coat...Sizing Runs Small in Some Colors

I bought one in dark blue 4 yrs ago. Bought it 2 sizes too big, but it was too small. I kept it & wore t a couple of times. It's a very warm coat h kept me dry in some severe rain storms. I just bought one in black, bigger size than the blue one & it fits great, w/room for a sweater underneath. The coat is so warm, I doubt I'll ever need a sweater underneath, though. This is a really effective winter coat. It's not too thick, yet very warm. I love that it comes down to my knees , as I like to take long walks in the winter time. I'm so happy this second coat fits me well. I'll pass the blue one to my daughter, who needs a really good raincoat to walk kids to school & to walk to work. Best raincoat I have ever owned

I bought this very brand and style 8 yrs ago at a boat show and wore it every winter after that. I’ve washed it hundreds of times and the lining began to wear out and I gained several pounds of Covid weight. I ordered this exact same coat again at $50 over my 8 yr ago coat price and it is WORTH EVERY PENNY! Great fit, comfortable, waterproof, breathes a little, three zipper pockets, front zips from top down from bottom up.
