  • 75 Mile Review- Awesome!
Size: Dual Battery Color: GREEN
Highly recommended!! This review will be pretty in-depth. I'll cover what you should expect, what apprehensions I had about purchasing, how those apprehensions were alleviated, some of the bike's features, some accessories, and it's strengths and very minor quirks. First, this bike is amazing. The build quality appears to heavily exceed the $1400 price point. It is far closer to a motorbike or motorcycle than a bicycle, in weight alone. The style is amazing, it turns heads, it's fast, and each of the components work well. It's simply "cool." Packaging: very well packed. Very easy to assemble. You could easily install this within an hour. I spent far more time than that, but much of that time went into an immediate brake upgrade I installed. I prefer hydraulic brakes over the mechanical brakes, and put on some hybrid hydraulic brakes. Very easy to do. You could use the included tools to do the entire bike assembly, but using a proper socket wrench and hex set will make this task painless. I suspect a Youtube video on brake adjustments might be in order after assembly. Easy. Performance: out of the box, this travels 28mph downhill. There is a procedure for unlocking the speed which has allowed me to reach 34mph. On flat ground, expect to usually see about 24mph. On a slight decline you'll see 28mph. Uphill, expect 10-15mph. However, if you gently pedal and use pedal assist uphill, you'll probably see closer to 18mph on the fiercest of uphills. I live in a very hilly area, and this bike does not struggle to battle hills at all. If you've never gone more than 28mph and don't now what it feels like- basically when you exceed this speed you start to think about whether or not you'd be more comfortable with some eye protection on. This bike does indeed feel FAST. It doesn't necessarily burn rubber to get to those speeds, but eventually you'll be flying on this thing. If you don't know how the features work, there are a few options. You can pedal like a bike (it's a heavy bike, don't bother), you can use five different levels of pedal assist (which means it'll give you anywhere from a minor to a major boost when you pedal), or you can just use the throttle (basically what I do the entire time). I am 265lbs. So the speeds might be a bit faster for someone lighter. With that said, the S1 model is extremely comfortable for someone of my weight. Seat is huge, and if your rear starts to get tired you can easily scoot back to find a change in padding that kinda resets any minor discomfort during long rides. I ordered an S2, but I immediately inquired about adding some cargo bags to the bike and customer support suggested that we do a product switch to the very similar S1 because the shape of the frame better supports some storage. Great suggestion. Additional features: bike has a horn, brake light, and a headlight that all work pretty well. Beneath the seat is a box that stores some of the bike's electronics. I removed the seat to velcro down those electronics as they were making a bit of noise initially. In that box, I added a vibration sensor alarm and an Apple Airtag. Worked out perfectly. The bike has seven gears. I'd be surprised if you ever take it out of 7th gear. The gears don't do anything when the motor is doing the work, it's really only for when you're pedaling. I experimented with changing the gears on hills and such, but mine pretty much lives in 7th gear. I was happy that the derailer and gears were tuned perfectly out of the box. No clicking or annoyingness to deal with in that area. Bike has front and rear suspension. Handle grips are awesome. Display is clear (pretty standard display). There is room to add a handlebar mounted mirror. I'm sure I'll also add an iPhone mount. The bike has some pegs for a rear passenger to jump on. The pegs could be of better build quality. But I'm not complaining because I didn't know it was even going to come with them. I took the pegs off. Then I decided to spend some time fiddling with them. I added some rubber washers and a few bits from the hardware store and made the pegs better pretty easily. Bike performs pretty well even with a small passenger on it. Range: I use full throttle almost exclusively (and I'm a big guy that rides uphill a lot), so I'm not going to get anywhere near the posted range (and maybe not even the speeds) that they mention. But let me explain how the batteries and range works. In the dual battery model, both batteries will deplete together equally. I think at about 55 miles I said to myself "I should probably start to think about charging these batteries" after looking at the display meter. I'm at 75 miles now and my second charge is nowhere in the near future. But it's easy to remove the batteries and charge them both with their included chargers. The batteries don't get warm or do anything alarming during charging. It will take many hours to charge, but slow charging is safer. The bike will work with only one of the batteries connected or turned on, too. I bet most people could get away with the single battery models, but...that's not as cool. At first, I thought I would dislike that the batteries are branded with the "Akez" stickers. However, I've gotten to the point where I'm proud to be an owner of this company's product and I have no problems with flexing it. I had plans to make some custom stickers to go over the Akez, but I may not. Let's talk about apprehensions I had when making this purchase: At first, this looks like a dropshipped product. Advertised from a California location, but likely shipped from China on a slow boat. HOWEVER, it's the opposite. It appears as though homebase is China and that's who you communicate with if you establish communication with the seller (but it's very friendly, competent, and amazing customer service). Then the product ships from California. Mine arrived in 12 days to NY. The seller did say that he has a goal of 3-10 days, and that technically wasn't met. However, there was a tiny problem with the shipping label and it caused a slight delay. The seller stayed in contact with me to reassure me that the problem was being fixed, and even despite this little issue, it made GREAT time for a bulk weight item coming across the country by Fedex. I was scared that it wouldn't, especially because I appear to be among the first purchasers of this product. I feared a scam or sub-par service. I didn't get that at all. I got a great product that beat the Amazon estimated delivery date...by like a month. I sought this exact ebike on the internet. I had seen a Youtube review about it. I found it on Chinese marketplaces and sketchy websites. I was thrilled to see it on Amazon, because they were offering interest free financing and any fears I had about a poor transaction were protected by a well-known, established website (Amazon). So there are some minor issues. But I want to make it very clear that the seller has gone above and beyond to make these issues right. First, the rear suspension squeaks. Seller recommended an oil to use and he said he'd reimburse me. It didn't work. He's sending a new shock. Looks simple to install. And if it doesn't work, looks like there are other options out there to make it perfect. Product listing mentioned hydraulic brakes. This does not have hydraulic brakes. I don't really think you "need" them. But when I mentioned it to the seller, he offered to reimburse me for the ones that I purchased and put on. What I'm going to say next should make it extremely clear how much I like this bike, this company, and this seller: I declined all of these reimbursements. This bike already has a very strong value and minor issues were extremely minor. Here are the Amazon-purchased accessories I added to this bike. I highly recommend each one: Side view mirror "Meachow": ASIN B07XT11XG1 Removeabe brake line end caps: ASIN B085KZRBM9 HB-100 hybrid hydraulic brakes: ASIN B07RNB7T7R (price shop these, brand changes and model stays the same) SEE UPDATE, these brakes no longer recommended. A simple disc brake lock for security: ASIN B0BY8XCW2G Remote control bike alarm: ASIN B0B4VXQG18 I am going to remain attentive to the questions for this product. I really want to see this company stick around so when the time comes I can easily find replacement parts and batteries if need-be. Edit: I no longer recommend the brakes I've listed. Lost all stopping power, and one straight up broke. I put the stock one back in its place and it performs just fine. The new brake recommendation is the DB-680 brakes. These are special mechanical brakes that squeeze the disc on both sides, rather than the usual one side squeeze. However, the front brake doesn’t grab as much disc as the stock brake does. Performs well though, especially because the recommended brake can be tuned very precisely. Sensible to leave the stock brake on the front and a db-680 on the rear. ... show more

  • Helasdvt 750W 28MPH Adult Electric Bike,20 Inch Fat Tire - Terrible and cheap
Size: Dual Battery Color: GREEN
The media could not be loaded. Helasdvt 750W - So cheap lets start #1. 2 battery's paid 300 for second - no good no amp. 2. Paint very cheap and welds look horrible looks like it could crack. 3. Cable brakes not hydraulic. 4. Motor not high speed. 5. Frame front tube play in it - see noise video Having to replace and upgrade everything. Motor/Battery's. Tested 26AH 48V twin battery with bike and got only 19.5 amps peak barely (told they were 30amp BMS) and a constant of about only 600-700 watts max. Very cheap and low power on everything. Would NOT Recommend. ... show more

  • Not what I expected
Size: Dual Battery Color: GREEN
Unfortunately, this review is not for the S2 but for the MZB1 model by AKEZ. The bike aside, the customer service from this seller is top notch. I had many questions before receiving my bike, and I was promptly answered with knowledge and politeness. But when it came to time, the bike I ordered was delayed because of distribution issues. Instead of ignoring me or just yelling me to be patient, they upgraded me from the S2 to the MZB1, and I couldn't be more delighted with this product. The style isn't exactly what I wanted at first, and the lower amp hours because of only one battery was kind of a bummer, but the double watts, better brakes and suspension was a great upside. I've got over 100 miles on this bike already, and plans for countless more. It's easily upgraded and has alot of potential. I highly recommend buying from this company. If you aren't satisfied, they will do whatever they can to make sure you are. ... show more
