Description

Order a quantity of 1 in your shopping cart and receive 2 wand tilters. PLEASE MEASURE BLIND HEADRAIL BEFORE ORDERING - These wand tilters fit inside a headrail that is only 2.25" wide and 1.5" tall. Has a hexagon shaped gear hole in the center (this means that the metal rod that is located inside of your blind's headrail MUST BE hexagon shaped in order to fit inside of the gear.) The hexagon shaped gear hole in the center is 1/4" wide in diameter. How to Replace a Wand Tilt Mechanism: 1) Things you'll need: Steel tape measure and pliers 2) Remove the blind from the window and lay it on a flat surface. 3) If the wand is still attached, remove it and set it aside. 4) Measure the height and width of the metal headrail of your blind. If your headrail is 2.25" and 1.5" tall, then this product might be what you need. 5) With the pliers, remove any end stiffeners that are pressed into both sides of the end of the headrail. 6) Slide the metal rod out of the gear from the old wand tilt mechanism. If the metal rod is shaped like a hexagon (6 sides and 6 corners) then this is the wand tilt mechanism that you will need for your blind. 7) Slightly spread the headrail to remove the tilter from the headrail. 8) Install the new tilter by seating the tilter and then sliding the metal rod through the center gear hole. 9) Put end stiffeners back on, attach wand, and then hang up blind. You're finished!

  • Works perfectly, easy installation
I bought 4 units to replace broken tilters that came originally with the blinds. The installation was real easy, in fact I replaced 3 in less than 30 minutes. My blinds are made by Faux Wood Blinds (Grand Wood 2" Plantation Style, 6 ft. wide by 4 ft. long) and the fit was perfect. Parts are well made and I personally liked that the gears and sprocket are made of metal thus will last longer, Someone mentioned in a comment that the metal parts made it harder to close and open the blinds than the plastic ones, neither my wife or myself found them any harder but even if it was harder to turn I rather have them last longer with metal gears and sprocket. Tips: 1) Make sure that you align the flats in the gear and socket when installing tilter into hexagon shaft otherwise it will be hard to insert tilter into shaft. 2) You might also want to purchase a pack of CLEAR Valance Clips for Window Blind Valance (10 Pack) for $6.69 if you have a valance to cover the blind track. The valance is held by plastic clips and there is a good chance they will break when removing the valance and blind to replace the tilter. ... show more

  • Saved me a Net of $65
My blinds are about 15 years old and it just stopped working. I placed the hour with only 3 minutes left to have it delivered the next day. It arrived in less than 24 hours and I had it installed in less than 5 minutes. It saved me a Net of $65 and works great! There were two in the pack so I already have a replacement when the next blinds stop working. ... show more

  • Easy to Install
Remember to notice whether the hole in the middle of your old blinds tilter mechanism is 6-sided or square. The hole on this product is 6-sided. No instructions with the package, but a there are plenty of YouTube videos to help. Easy to install to replace my broken one. Hope these will last for a few years. ... show more

  • Good replacement, could be better.
Several of our wooden blinds have had their tilt controls break after many years of use, so I ordered these to be a better replacement. While these are metal gears, to replace the plastic gears of the originals, they are not greased, so the action is a little more harsh than the originals, and require a little more force to tilt them. When I dismantled the old blind controls, I found that the tilt mechanism housings had broken open, but the gears were all OK. So I think these metal gears may not be an improvement, nor last any longer. Time will tell. If I could have, I would have opened these to apply some grease, but there does not seem to be any way to do that easily. Our blinds all work again, and that's the important thing. It's easy to replace these: Raise and lock the blind before removing from the window. Remove the end cap on the opposite side from the tilt mechanism (I used a screwdriver to tap it out), and slide the hexagonal tilt rod out enough to disengage from the tilt mechanism. Pry the top lip of the rail away from the mechanism enough to unsnap and remove it. Drop in the new one, making sure the lip around the tilt control protrudes from the bottom of the rail, and snap the top lip in place. Push the hexagonal tilt rod through the new mechanism, rotating it right and left to get it to engage and slip through. Put the end cap back on. ... show more

  • Works Great Fits this size blind
Very glad it was a 2 pack. At the time of order we only needed 1. The other day, another one broke so within minutes had that one repaired also. As the blinds start to age and the originals were cheap plastic and drying out.... It might not hurt to have spares on hand. Installation was pretty straight forward. Good videos online. Do what you need to to slide the rotation bar out of broken rotation mechanism. then a simple pop out with a slight twist to remove. Installed is kind of the reverse. Slight twist to pop into place and make sure the hook part is seated. Slide the rotation bar into mechanism... and return blind to window. Some blinds easier than others. So your mileage may vary. But a simple project. ... show more

  • Works great! Now my blinds will tilt open and closed
Works great! Now my blinds will tilt open and closed. I highly recommend you verify the internal workings of your blinds before ordering. This tilter fits 1.5" (height) x 2.25" (width) headrail 0.25" hexagonal rod These specifications may be "universal" for 2" horizontal wood blinds, but I saw a review about it not fitting so it's worth checking. After verifying the dimensions, I hung the blinds back up to cover the window until my order arrived. To install, you have to pop the old tilter loose and slide it off the rod. This may take some work by sliding the rod back and/or popping out other components to allow enough slack to remove it. Once it is removed, replace it with the new tilter and work all the components back together. Patience is key... I've included a before and after picture of my repair. My old tilter had plastic gears which stripped (looks like the manufacturer also put some oil in it for lubrication). I chose this tilter for the metal gears in hope of long-term reliability. Also there is a clear retaining sleeve which slides toward the hook to help hold your twist rod. You can see it by zooming in on the product picture, but I didn't see it when I ordered so I was pleasantly surprised. ... show more

  • Perfect fit and easy to install
The tilt wand on our very wide 2” horizontal blinds stopped working and would just click, click, click when we turned it, so I searched YouTube and found a video on replacing a tilt wand control that had the same problem. I took the blinds down and noticed that the middle gear on the control was made of plastic, which was strange since I figured that blinds over 76” would have a metal gear. I went straight to Amazon and found the perfect replacement control with a metal gear, and it came in a pack of two controls, which was even better, not to mention the inexpensive price. I watched a few videos on replacing the tilt control while waiting for the order to arrive so when the package came, I was able to replace it easily and the blinds open and close like new again. Now I have an extra control in case the plastic gear in the tilt control on the other set of blinds starts clicking. ... show more
