Wow! These things are beefy and solid. No screws for attaching these you're gonna need bolts but once on they look great! They swing quite nicely and smoothly and suspect they should hold up well enough overtime given how solidly they feel and the fact that our gate is a bit lighter as a redwood gate As opposed to a metal gate which these are clearly intended for. But hey at $40 a pair why not over engineer?! Overall very happy with these and suspect that'll be well worth the money as I expect many years of life out of these. After having them in hand and installed I would not hesitate to pull the trigger on these again.

I ordered the heavy-duty gate Hinges for Large, Heavy Wooden, or Metal Gates through the VINE program. The hinges are heavy, sturdy, well-constructed, and coated for rust-proofing. I installed them on a metal gate made from two-and-a-half-inch square tubing and three-quarter-inch square tubing. The gate is heavy. Installing the hinges on it was easy. I chose to weld the hinges on, so first, I had to grind the edges and remove the coating. It is a thick coating that feels like it has some rubber or plastic in it. Once I removed the coating from the edges, I lined up the hinges on the post and welded them on. I then lined up the gate, got it level with the post, and welded the opposite side of the hinge to the gate. The steel held up well, and I got good adhesion with the mig weld (wire.) The gate opens and closes smoothly. **make sure to remove enough coating from the edges to allow a good weld. Also, watch out for the remaining coating because it will probably catch fire. It turns off quickly, but make sure you are in a well-ventilated area**

These are super heavy duty. The brackets are just a little warped but shouldn’t affect installation or function. It’s nice that they come with installation instructions. It appears as though the instructions shows a grease fitting and an oil fitting. Ours came with an oil fitting. These are not self closing but seem to have a closed ball-bearing hinge.

These are really nice hinges, definitely what's needed for a heavy gate. I'm using them for a really long gate, so even though it's not exceptionally heavy there will be a lot of leverage on them. Nice thick material with is great since I am welding them in place so the thicker the better. A great alternative to teh bullet style hinges, these will open a lot wider because the offset that's built into them. Really pleased, great quality and well thought out.

Had the need for a 11' long, heavy wooden gate. These hinges gave me the ability to swing the gate easily and were simple to install. Used 3.5" lag bolts to hold the hinges to the wall and gate. Hinges are VERY solid and stable. Should hold up better than my gate over time.

These hinges are heavy duty and have a nice, smooth pivot. They also have a very nice finish that you will be hesitant to grind off in order to weld them on, but you gotta do what you gotta do.
