Efficient cleaner, does pool floor and walls. On some walls it falls off halfway up depending on the pump speed set. But often it goes straight up to clean the tile line. Once it hits air it falls back down in 6-10 seconds. The air-sucking sound can be a little annoying so I don't run it at night. It seems like the longer I have it the better it gets the walls, like its learning the pool area more with time. I have a variable speed pump. I upgraded this to 5 stars now that I've had it over 3 years. It works even at lower pump speeds like 1700 rpm. At first it focused on deep end. But I "retrained" it by pulling it to shallow end. Once it got the route down it was fine. It has some kind of built-in memory system. So far it picks up leaves and dirt with no problem, with rarely getting clogged. Very pleased so far. It doesn't get steps or in-pool seats but I can live with that. Only needed 7 of the 10 hoses. It rarely gets stuck. I have an Avg size inground rectangle pool = about 11'x 30' , 5' deep with side suction port in about the middle. Did not use or need supply bag with control valve, etc. Good product so far. Sometimes it gets carried away with the wall cleaning. Recently it cleaned the tile and broke the air surface 3 times in 60 seconds. That's unusual. It makes this air suction sound when it does but it keeps it clean. But I adjust the valve to more skimmer and less vacuum and that solves that. After 3 years the "intentional bump" on the tires wears down. That "bump" keeps it from getting stuck. So you eventually have to replace the tires. But that's simple. I had purchased the sweeper with four wheels and, due to the Bahama shelf in my pool, the unit kept flipping on it's side and not righting itself. I successfully returned it and purchased the two-wheel model, and this unit works great. Another thing I noticed is that the four wheel model tended to float for some reason and I needed to put weights on it to keep it on the floor of the pool. The new model does not have this problem. This unit picks up everything, even sticks! I have may palms around my pool which drops fibrous plant material into my pool and this cleaner picks all of it up. I did install one of those in-line canister filters on the hose to catch material before it reaches the main filter, and this works really well also. ... show more

UPDATE 8.14.23... So this vacuum has been working well the last several months...a couple of times it stopped due to a small rock or other obstruction, but other than that, it stays at the bottom of the pool now and rolls around like it's supposed to. So that's why I'm changing my rating. (Original post) My pool guy recommeneded this vacuum for my pool. It works pretty well for several minutes but then it starts floating towards the top of the water and then doesn't move. My pool is 8ft deep and it seems this unit just doesn't weigh enough to stay on the floor of the pool or go up and down the sides like it's supposed to. I hope that eventually it will work as it's supposed to. If that happens, I'll change my rating. But so far, it's an expensive disappointment. ... show more

I came on here just to rate this pool cleaner...it's great! I have wrestled with my outdoor pool, especially since the oaks near it have grown larger and hang over the pool. Lots of little sticks falling into pool and no other pool vacuum has worked like this one. It got great reviews and I'm adding to them because it's really true. (Not very trusting of 5 star reviews on Amazon) But this is definitely worth the money. I still have to pull little sticks or too many leaves out of the opening but as soon as I do, it takes right off again. ... show more

I used this cleaner to replace an old Hayward Navigator that had been rebuilt twice and just wasn’t cutting it any longer. The one thing that sold me on buying this one was the center part that supposedly can pick up larger debris without clogging. A sort of “variable” wheel size internally. My cleaner would constantly stay in the deep end and didn’t love too much. I realized only after I returned it for those reasons my pump wasn’t operating in top condition for suction and that was the reason. I did like that the parts replacement on one like this is mostly the wheels and looked like an easy upkeep versus the Navigator that has the A frame, pods, shoes, flaps and other parts that would constantly wear with heavy usage. This is our second one of these. The first one lasted for nearly 9 years and was very reliable, and we would have replaced the wheels on the old one if I hadn't mishandled and broken one off. The tread on the wheels will wear down and causes the unit to slow down and not be as efficient, but if you replace the wheels as the treads wear down, it will continue to be a great cleaner.
