    • Treads Lock Up.

I bought this and set it a few weeks later. I followed the instructions and got it set up and it worked like a champ for about 3-weeks. Then I noticed the tracks locked up, not spinning. It would not move. I took it out of the water and manually played with the tractor treads and finally it got unstuck and moved easily again. I hooked it back up and appeared to be working fine. I just assumed that maybe a small twig git in the gears and had jammed things up. Unfortunately the next day I see the treads are not moving again. I took it out of the water and spun the treads and it quickly came unlocked. Then I kept spinning the treads hoping to see if it locked up again. It did. It seems that at certain times the shaft that is connected to both sets of treads gets stuck when the shaft moves from the interior set of gears to the larger outside gear. Not all the time but enough times where I am not confident it will be able to clean the pool on a daily basis. Is there some screw that needs to be tightened or loosened. I didn't think my mid 30s would look like this, but I haven't been this excited for anything...anything...in a long time. Nonetheless, I made it through another week, and this bad boy finally arrived. Easy to set up, easy to use and works fantastic. Climbs high walls of diving pool. Like a child after opening their gifts on Christmas, I spent hours outside at 11pm with a flashlight, watching this vacuum maneuver around my pool like a prime Michael Phelps - but with tank treads! 10/10 would buy another just to show it to people how cool it is. ... show more

I thought I’d give it a try and found it to be working well it does climb the walls of the pool and it cleans the entire bottom and when it gets done cleaning I remove it from the pool due to the chlorine which it will slowly hurt the plastic gearing like the other sweeper I had before this one is pricey though we’ll have to wait and see in a couple of months to see if it doesn’t break down I’ll let everyone know on my update ... show more

Cleaner feels sturdy and does not take up much storage space when not in use. Other reviews criticized that the cleaner would not upright itself as needed. I too had this issue, but I attributed this to the fact that the suction tube is a very good, thick,high quality tube, and that the weight of the tube dragging behind the cleaner appeared to me, to be the cause. The cleaner comes with only one clip on float block which is placed 12"-18" inches above the cleaner. I added a 3" length piece of pool noodle by splitting it and taping it around the suction hose at about it's mid-point. Ever since, the cleaner works flawlessly! ... show more

    • Terrible product that did not even last 1 year!

Terrible product! Do not buy ! Wish someone told me this earlier!!! Lasts less than 12 months!!!! To make matter worse, the manufacturer said the warranty is valid but amazon has to process the warranty. Then called amazon and they said manufacturer handles warranty! All in all no one will take responsibility as to who handles warranty. The story gets worse : the part that failed is small plastic latch which holds the entire body in place and keeps it functional. Its some cheap plastic that just deteriorated on its own. It probably will take the company 10 cents to produce the part perhaps 25cents if they used the right plastic but because you cant even order that part the whole assembly is useless. I went and bought thinking Hayward and Amazon name, so wrong I've been proven. Buy only "Sold and shipped by amazon" at least amazon does something about those things as of this writing. Who knows what future holds for amazon is what I'm wondering, once a hallmark of customer service going the circuit city way. People old enough know what happened next. ... show more
