So, as an ex pool builder, I know a thing or two about everything pool. I have bought and returned may cleaners due to poor performance. Getting stuck on steps, getting stuck on main drains, not climbing walls, missing complete areas, not cleaning shallow end etc. This TracVac solves all of those issues. I have a 16X32 pool that was spotless in 2.5 hours, not days ! It climbs walls with ease, does not need massive suction to move and never gets stuck. This pool cleaner works great! This particular model hooks directly up to the skimmer via a hose and pulls the debris to the filter. No plugging a machine into electricity and hoping the dog does not chew the cord! The suction is great - it goes up the walls and steps for a thorough clean. Its fantastically easy to use, just put in in your pool and connect the hose! Then come back to check on it once every 5 minutes to get it going again! Buy this pool cleaner and you can spend hours helping it do its job! You even get to run your variable speed pump at 100% power all day! The increased electric bill is just a bonus! Why buy a pool cleaner that cleans your pool effortlessly in one or two hours when you can buy this one that leaves your pool constantly dirty after running all day! I was amazed how this simple design magically gets the floor clean. It lacks brushes so you need to manually brush beforehand. It just goes forward some distance, then turns 350 degrees or so and goes straight again. This seems to be enough. It does climb walls. As my pool is large, i haven't used the included hoses. I have a 50' hose attached to the vac port above ground, then a leaf canister (a must have!), then a 25' hose, then this vac. I wrapped electric tape around the attachment fitting, else standard 1.5" hose would fall off. It is important to put the included float on the hose 2' from the vac. The hose closest to the vac does get coiled somewhat, as the vac always turns in one direction. But due to the swivel, it doesn't overcoil or prevent normal operation. The vac somtimes falls on its side or stands up, but eventually rights itself. This is due to the large pool and my hose configuration. I do move the entry point of my large hose into the water to shift the coverage more to one side. I would say it takes 12 hours at least to go over my pool completely, likely a couple of 12 hour cycles. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. I bought this as a replacement for my Hayward Navigator XL and could not be more pleased with it. I took it out of the box, plugged it in, set the suction level and it's been working perfectly ever since. It climbs the walls which is something the Navigator XL wasn't able to do. It doesn't get stuck on the drains or the tile turtles or the stairs and it always lands on its feet. It's small and seems to be well made. Cleans well when upright. Tips over constantly, have to put it upright again. Needs some sort of outrigger to keep it from flipping. Wpuld not recommend.

The media could not be loaded. I have the vacuum running for about 3 weeks now. The vacuum is powerful and moves around well except at least 2-3 times in a 4 hour filtration cycle it will either get stuck to the pool step or it will flip sideways and go in circles. Every time it gets stuck or turns on its side, it requires manual intervention to straighten it up again. I have sent email to the seller 2 weeks ago but have not heard back from them. Apart from this problem the product is good so far. Time will tell how durable it is. ... show more
