I bought this to help cool my bedroom because its too early by me to turn on the central air, but sadly this is just a fan, and its not even a powerful fan..i did everything instructed on how to get cold ac air from it, but all i got was slightly cool air no matter what i did. i felt after it ran for a long time, it made my room humid. this is way too expensive for what it is, and it really only feels coolish if you sit right on top of it..its not worth the buy in my opinion Update: I threw it out on junk day.

Was pretty skeptical in the beginning but it cools my room very nicely. It’s not your average and you have to refill the water but it’s SOOOO much more energy efficient than regular ACs

So, I ordered the evaporative cooler to have in time for a camping trip the beginning of August. Where we stay, can get warm at night when it's super hot this would help. As I used a small articare in the past before the circuitry died. And this look like the perfect size. And also needed it for our bedroom during our current heat waves. As our room air conditioner has just stop working correctly now. So decided to get this as a backup. And hopefully earn the money back by not using as much electricity . I figured it would help with our PG&e bill as we are a little higher in elevation. But we're needing an additional way to cool. I am very disappointed that, we ordered it. Then, realizing it was missing a remote. And the blue bottles had leaked out, needing to be wiped off... The instruction were not very clear as to how to use the blue bottles. An, 'Is It Worth It' reviewer, thought the blue stuff was poured in... Now, I know different.... That I appreciate from the info I received when I called in about the replacement. All this .... But, at least I was able to use it to stay a little cooler! I didn't think it was as efficient as another one I have in my living room. As, I felt the air should go from the back through the filter pulling more coolness through it. but, it was helping and the size I was looking for. Not, too big and not too small. I was able to use it for about 2 to 3 days and nights before, I called in about the remote and leaking blue bottles. What, I am most upset about is......I was told a replacement would be sent. And they would send the shipping info label to send the one I was using back. I asked if I could keep the one without the remote at least until I received the replacement.... To have the cooling effect until the replacement came. I was assured it would only be two days without the use of it. As with 2 day shipping that, I would be without the use of it. For maybe a day or two. I received the confirmation of the order for replacement. Next day UPS brought the label and I shipped it back. I have already received the email stating that it was received back. But when I checked to see on the order for the replacement.... it is listed as not shipped yet! It stated I would not receive it until .......originally it said the 7th through 9th!!! That will be the time period that we will be camping so, I will not end up getting to use it during the time I wanted. And we are also having to endure a heat wave without it so it's not going to save me like I thought it would. My husband even went and bought a small Arctic air just to get me through the time period which also was an added expense. So, I am very frustrated I realize the shipping might have delayed and you might not have anything to do with it being out of stalk...... But, I do feel I should have been able to have held on and used what I had until the replacement came. Because supposedly the only thing wrong was missing a remote. And leaking bottles. So, in the future, ...that might be something you want to think about. This was my first time of ordering through Amazon and the other company. I feel bad because I think Mel who helped me really thought that it would arrive within two days. As Mel was very understanding and empathetic and I enjoy talking with her. It's basically a fan. Not an air conditioner; it doesn't blow cool air at all! I bought a $150 fan, basically. I could've bought a $50 fan at Walmart that serves the same purpose. I've come to a conclusion that no portable air cooler is meant to work as an air conditioner. It's all fake. You need to buy a real air conditioner in order to cool the room. Even if you add the ice packs, it's pointless; it makes no difference! It's just a gimmick, making you think that "oh yeah I feel the cold air blowing" NEW UPDATE: After 2 months of use, the pump for some reason stopped pumping water! The pump creates a noise when the speed is turned to high. In fact whether the pump pumps water or not, it doesn't actually matter, as the use of water actually doesn't produce cool air. The bottom line: it's a fan.

I thought it was like a regular air switches in and off when it hits the temp. The screws that come with it are flat. Can’t bite into the window sill so I had to get new ones. It works great cooks down my apartment and it’s big apartment

Not what i expected got to keep putting in it.. And then you guys had it on sale after i bought it for $130.00 i payed $160 thats not fair not all that cool either sending it back..soon

Unit is small not what I expected. Works more like a personal fan or a small room fan. Cooling portion is ok but cumbersome. Very small and more of a personal cooling system. It works good as a fan for small spaces like an office cubicle or 10 × 10 room.
