  • Hatchbox is the gold standard for mid-range Filament
Color: Cool Gray
I have been 3D printing for 5 years and owned a QIDI, Prusa and Reality. By far the Prusa is the best and it works well with almost all filaments. But when you get into the QIDI, it is far less forgiving with all types of PLA. However, the Hatchbox brand is very steady with "draft" printers like QIDI. Consistent prints and no strings or pimples. When you use the Hatchbox in the higher end printer (Prusa) the bottom of the print is smooth and tight and when using supports it seems easier to remove. Aslo, Hatchbox has added many new colors ... show more

  • Rich Color and Reliable Performance—HATCHBOX Iron Red PLA Delivers!
If you're a 3D printing enthusiast, HATCHBOX Iron Red PLA is a game-changer. The color is a stunning, deep red that really pops in finished prints, giving them a professional, polished look. The filament feeds smoothly without clogging, and its consistency ensures reliable results every time. It’s also easy to work with, adhering well to the print bed and showing minimal warping. The 1 KG spool offers great value, providing plenty of material for larger projects. Overall, HATCHBOX delivers high-quality PLA that enhances both the appearance and durability of your prints. Highly recommended for both beginners and pros alike! ... show more

  • Works Well With No Issues
Color: Baby Blue
I started with this company out of research/reviews. I've gone through 2.5 spools of the stuff so far (black, light blue, and grey) on my Ender 3 V2 Neo. All have been consistent and reliable to print. I did recently try to switch to a different brand (Polymaker PolyTerra in black) and was shocked by the difference in quality. Although the polyterra looked nice also, it was on sale for $5 less and it couldn't get it to print a full print with out becoming tangled. With Hatchbox, I haven't had a single spool tangle, clog, or issues with adhesion. I'm very happy and impressed and will be continuing to use them for the foreseeable future. ... show more

  • Great filament for 3D printing Noob.
Color: Blue
So far I LOVE this filament and will probably be being more from this brand. I am completely new to 3D printing and aside from the tiny spool that came with the Ender 3 I bought a few spools from Hatchbox based on the reviews and reputation. So far they do live up to the hype! Watched several videos on YouTube from CHEP in particular and Teaching Teach about printer assembly, calibration and profile configuration. After getting everything dialed in I am very happy with the results, ( wisps of stringing was my fault, damaged the nozzle so it will be replaced shortly. No stringing at all before that). The cat was printed with all stock parts, no upgrades or mods. I would highly recommend this filament to anyone new to 3D printing to minimize headaches associated with figuring out possible root causes. Did not have any problems with the filament sticking to the bed, warping or shrinking. When it did, it was because something was not properly set on the printer by me. The blue from the pic does not do it justice. It's actually a few shades darker. Material feels pretty sturdy but since PLA is not meant for long-term durability I will probably cover the parts with a clear acrylic since moisture is still the #1 enemy of PLA. With PLA though remember to keep it in an airtight container, particularly with a dissecant to keep moisture as low as possible. If you hear hissing or popping while printing this means the filament has absorbed moisture and while this can be fixed by drying in an oven but it's best to try to prevent this if you can. I highly recommend using this filament to anyone who is just getting into 3D printing. Like anything you are new at or have never used, make sure you do your research and do proper troubleshooting before blaming the product. ... show more

  • Solid Quality
Filament is wound nicely and prints really clean. No stringing, clogging, or tangles. Good bed adhesion during print, easily removed when it was cooled down. I would buy again. The only con for me is that the filament roll does not fit on the Bambu Labs A1 AMS lite. This can be fixed by printing an adapter from MakerWorld, so it didn’t stop me from printing what I wanted. I was just annoyed that I had to print the adapter first- and I’m impatient and just wanted to get to my project. ... show more

  • My go-to, workhorse filament
Color: Black
Now that I'm on my third roll of this stuff, I feel comfortable writing a review. I absolutely love this filament, and I really don't think there is a PLA that can beat it for the price. There are fancier, stronger PLA's such as Polymax, but they cost over twice as much for a smaller roll. With Hatchbox black, I don't feel like my money is getting flushed down the toilet with every failed print. The finish has an attractive glossy shine, and the material itself has great dimensional accuracy, making for less blobs and zits, assuming that you have a nice extruder/hot end. I have gotten good results with 0.4mm nozzles all the way up to 1mm nozzles with big fat traces. When you print coarse, this stuff is rock solid (by PLA standards). I also have better bed adhesion with this stuff than it's cheaper counterparts. Obviously, this isn't going to replace materials like poly-carbonate for prints that need extreme strength and heat resistance. It isn't magic. But if you want a budget filament that can works for drafts AND final products (for many applications), you can't go wrong with Hatchbox Black PLA. It might be worth mentioning that (at least on my build surface, LokBuild) the bottom will have a matte finish rather than a shiny one. Sometimes peeling off larger prints will leave a chalky white residue on the bottom for some reason, but a few seconds with a heat gun will clear that up no problem. My only complaint is that if you do a lot of sanding or filing in post processing, you will lose that awesome shiny finish. However, I am of the school of thought that if your printer is well tuned and you are slicing your files well, you won't need to do much sanding. ... show more

  • Reliable for great prints, great colors!
Color: Light Orange
Outstanding filament. I have a Bambu Lab P1S, and this filament is my favorite. It adheres to the hot plate with no issues, and the layer lines are very minimal. Hatchbox PLA is my go-to filament.
