This solved the issue I had with the old transformer not passing enough juice to keep the doorbell working. Over a few months the doorbell would lose its connection. I'd have to bring it in the house and charge it up a little with a phone charger and the hidden USB plug on the left side of the doorbell housing under a little rectangle of thin plastic. I ordered this from a suggestion by Ring doorbell because my device health said my transformer was weak and showed this 24 volt as the one to purchase. My doorbell transformer is in the attic so I hired a man to install it for me. When he came out of the attic he said the wiring was attached to the ceiling fixture in a bedroom so he removed the fan hooked up the transformer somehow (I didn’t watch him) and he was finished. When I looked at my device health it said it was only 13 volts. I don’t know if it’s because of the way it was wired but the man said we just need a new doorbell. ... show more

I know some people have complained that the transformer shows readings of 14V when installed. Mine showed the same number as well, but after a half day the voltage went up to 15V and after a full day post installation the voltage read at 16V where it should be. So you may get the low voltage reading of 14V or lower approximately after first installing the transformer, but give it a day or two and the voltage should read at 16V. ... show more

Ordered and got a used/broken transformer vs a new, Ring transformer. Once we returned and got it installed it didn’t give me the higher volts but haven’t had an issue once the correct, new one was installed.

Installed wired ring and was getting error it didn't have enough power. Limited features. I bought this to replace my 1990s transformer and my ring works perfect. Simple install.

Bought this because the app said it would fix my issues. Absolutely did not. Needed a higher voltage because of the distance from my transformer to my doorbell. I'm sure it's a great transformer for a shorter run, but did not help me

My doorbell continues to lag when connecting to the Wi-Fi Internet. I read that this was probably the issue replacing this transformer, but waited a very long time. I don’t know why. But when I did finally buy this and install it, it works like a champ. A very quick fix to a common issue. We connect the ring doorbell to older homes with an older transformer. Works great. Had a similar model from a big box store and it hummed and buzzed. This one works great with no hum or buzz. Worked great with Ring Doorbell to power it fully.
