Perfect for Leica Q3 43
Color: Black Round
I'm extremely satisfied with this lens hood, which I purchased for my Leica Q3 43. Unlike the rectangular hood that comes with the camera, this one allows the camera to sit level on a flat surface, preventing it from tipping forward due to the heavy lens. It also has the added benefit of enabling filter attachment without the need to remove the hood. The black finish is a perfect match with the camera, and there are no distracting logos or branding. I highly recommend this hood to fellow Q3 owners.

Very nice hood but the lens cover is a bit too tight

Fits the Leica Q3-43 lens perfectly, but the lens cover Leica provides is a bit tight on this lens hood. You really cannot push the cover fully onto the hood as it nearly gets stuck and very difficult to remove. The cover can be put onto the hood far enough to seal the lens, so it’ll do. Good materials and texture to the metal, so I’ll keep it. Five stars if the lens cover wasn’t so tight.

It's indistinguishable from the original hood

This lens hood fits my Leica Q2 perfectly, feels sturdy, and is made of high-quality material. It's indistinguishable from the original hood that comes with the camera, but thinking of resale value, I would rather bang this one up than the original. Happily surprised that there is no branding whatsoever on this hood either.

Lens hood, duh.

Don’t what it is about a camera without a lens hood but they look naked or something. So why bother? And like everything else, they’ve gotten pricey-er. What do they actually do? A case could be made about blocking out extraneous light or maybe additional protection from the bumps and bangs that life serves up. OK. But the bottom line is: with one, your camera will look like it is owned by a discerning professional. This is a good one and it does all that stuff I talked about. So, buy one, you won’t regret it.

I was impressed when I first purchased the cap it worked as advertised but after a month or so of use the felt on the inside lip of the lens cap started to become unglued. Once this happened the felt started to roll down the lip of the cap and the cap could not be used. I would not recommend this product.

Save the stock one. Nearly identical to Leica’s and feels just as strong. Bang it up.

Identical to the OEM one but far cheaper to replace. No branding (a plus). Sure, the Leica one has to be better but I don’t know how. The logo? It feels and fits identically as well as nicely color matched with my Q2 Monochrom. The thing is that the metal hood is vital protection and inevitably gets banged around. It functions as your first defense against banging around. Frankly I wish I had bought this one immediately and put the original somewhere warm.

Great add-on for the price

I have a Q3 28 and wanted a hood with the brassy, bronze look. The Leica accessory hood is round only and is far too much for a lens hood. When I saw this pop up in a search, I was hesitant because the description stated "Q3 43" and wasn't sure if it would fit the 28mm lens. Thankfully, it does fit the 28mm version. No issues with vignetting or using the macro setting. The hood threaded in perfectly and as you can see in the photo, it looks great.
