Don’t what it is about a camera without a lens hood but they look naked or something. So why bother? And like everything else, they’ve gotten pricey-er. What do they actually do? A case could be made about blocking out extraneous light or maybe additional protection from the bumps and bangs that life serves up. OK. I received the Haoge LH-LQ Metal Lens Hood Shade for my Leica Q and I must say that I am very impressed. It does what I indented it to do and that is to give my lens a little protection while allowing me to add ND filters. Fits perfectly on my Q2. Threads on smoothly. It's low profile enough to not feel bulky yet seems to provide a reasonable amount of protection. I can easily change filters without having to remove it.
